U-19: Another resounding victory. The Porters are dismissed.
On Saturday afternoon, Wisła left no doubt to Pogoń Szczecin's players, comfortably winning 5-0. Coach Karol Nędza's men, thanks to two goals from Hugo Woyna-Orlewicz and goals from Jakub Nowiński, Tomasz Dusik, and Filip Kowalski, added another three points to their tally in the Central Junior League.
White Star dominated the match from the outset, as evidenced by a two-goal lead after 20 minutes. First, Hugo Woyna-Orlewicz finished off Jakub Molenda's counterattack, and then Jakub Nowiński found the back of the net after a corner. The Kraków team continued to push forward. Before the break, Wisła found two more ways to beat the Portowcy goalkeeper. Tomasz Dusik doubled the lead after an assist from Woyna-Orlewicz, and moments later, the White Star striker finished the move himself, turning towards goal with his opponent on his back. Wisła went into the locker room with four goals to spare. After the break, their appetite for scoring continued undiminished. Coach Karol Nędza's men continued to attack, creating opportunities. However, their effectiveness was lacking, as best exemplified by Filip Kowalski's missed penalty. A moment later, after a corner kick, Kowalski redeemed himself, increasing the lead and setting the score at 5-0.
Coach Karol Nędza emphasizes, however, that team and individual development remain key for the staff and players. This victory will certainly help Wisła prepare for future matches, but this match also highlights the aspects that need to change.
"The result is one thing, but we also look at it from a training perspective. We pay attention to the tasks assigned to the players and the quality of their execution. Above all, we will look at this match with this in mind. We know what we need to improve to be even better. This victory is very pleasing, because it's easier to work in a good mood. However, it's not crucial for us. We still need to focus on developing our players. This match provides us with good material to continue to be aware of what we need to work on and what we need to improve in individual positions."
