U-17: Unlucky defeat in Łódź

In the 20th round of the Central Junior League, coach Patryk Jałocha's side faced AKS SMS Łódź away. The match ended in a one-goal victory for the hosts, who defeated the Kraków team 1-0 after an unlucky second-half attack.

The match started off very evenly. Both teams tried to impose their style of play, but between the 10th and 20th minutes, the hosts seized the initiative, forcing Wisła to play a low defense. The Kraków team survived this period and gradually began to take control of the match. Wisła effectively broke through the high pressure of their opponents, built attacks, and created scoring opportunities. They twice came close to scoring from set pieces, but lacked a solid finish. The score remained goalless at halftime, and Wisła could be pleased with their performance, especially in possession.

Wisła takes the initiative, but lacks effectiveness

After the break, Wisła continued to play well. In the 60th minute, Mateusz Kania had a golden opportunity, going one-on-one with the SMS goalkeeper, but his shot fell just short of the net. Wisła dominated possession, building attacks, and trying to break down the hosts' defense. Despite the Kraków home side's advantage, it was Łódź who scored the only goal of the match. After a 16-meter cross, a Wisła defender ducked the ball, thinking the goalkeeper would intercept it. However, the goalkeeper didn't react, thinking the defender would clear the ball. As a result, the ball sailed to the far post and into the net, giving SMS the lead. From that point, Kraków intensified their attacks even further. The hosts retreated to a low defense, effectively repelling Wisła's pressure. Despite the visitors' efforts, they were unable to turn the tide.
