U-15: emotions until the very end and victory in Starachowice

Wisła Kraków U-15s claimed their second victory of the Central Junior League season on Saturday afternoon. The White Star defeated Star Starachowice 3-1 away. Mateusz Surma scored twice, and Dawid Szpotan scored one goal.

Coach Dawid Ślusarczyk's players were heading into the match in Starachowice after last week's break due to unpredictable weather. Heavy rain prevented the match against DAP Dębica from being played.

Wisła were the clear favorites against Star and they more than fulfilled that role. The victory didn't come easily, however, as there were very few scoring opportunities in the first half.

The Kraków team ripped open the scoring after the break, just three minutes after the restart. Mateusz Surma opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, but the hosts managed to close the gap just a few minutes later.

Wisła controlled the match and created numerous chances. In one of them, the ball hit the post, and moments later, the White Star players found the back of the net, but the referee blew the whistle for offside.

The outcome of the match hung in the balance until the final minutes, which the White Star players played brilliantly. First, Surma completed a double in the 78th minute, and in stoppage time, Dawid Szpotan scored after Marcin Berezka's interception, thus securing the match's final score.

"I'm very happy with the victory, which gives us three points. Considering we were sidelined last round, the players were more fresh and in better physical condition. We made some minor mistakes individually, but overall, as a team, we outperformed our opponents. The final result reflects that. We're now focused on maintaining our winning streak in the upcoming matches," emphasizes Dawid Ślusarczyk, manager of the U-15 team.

After five rounds of matches, Wisła has seven points (two wins, a draw, and a loss). In the sixth round, Wisła will face Hutnik Kraków in a derby. Kick-off on Saturday at the Piastowska stadium is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
