U-15: Cracovia wins in the derby

Wisła Kraków U-15s failed to break Cracovia's winning streak in the Central Junior League. Wisła Kraków U-15s prevailed in the derby 1-0. Additionally, Igor Zaszczudłowicz suffered a serious injury.

In the first half of the derby, Wisła held the upper hand for a long time, but failed to create any real threat in front of Pasy's goal. Their opponents managed to block shots from Franciszek Szpil and Marcin Berezka, among others. Before the break, Cracovia took the lead, capitalizing on positional errors by the White Star players.

After a throw-in, one of the opponents got to the ball and surprised Szymon Koładka with a shot from the air at the near post.

Wisła tried to close the gap, but couldn't break the defense of the Central Junior League Group D leaders. Władysław Kowalski had a good chance to equalize late in the period, but the Cracovia goalkeeper made a powerful save. Szpil also made several runs into the opponents' penalty area, but the home team's defense held firm.

In the final minutes, the White Star coaching staff put everything on the line and implemented a very aggressive offensive line. The score remained unchanged, although the final minutes were not without controversy.

In one of the final plays, Igor Zaszczudłowicz, who had been brought on in the second half, was brought down in the penalty area after a tackle by an opponent, but the referee remained unmoved. After contact with the opponent, the Wisła Kraków player was unable to continue playing and was taken to the hospital. Tests confirmed he had suffered a broken collarbone.

"Defeating in a derby always hurts, but every match brings us positive conclusions and lessons we want to learn from. I think that in this match, the building and creating phase of our play was a good aspect. However, we were unable to create a fully clear-cut goal-scoring opportunity. Now we have two equally important matches ahead of us, for which we must prepare appropriately," concluded U-15 coach Dawid Ślusarczyk.

Wisła will finish the autumn round of the league with matches against Akademia Piłkarskie Perełki Puławy (Sunday, November 17, 3:00 p.m.) and BKS Biłgoraj (Saturday, November 23, 12:30 p.m.).
