U-19: defeat against Jagiellonia in the opening match
On Saturday afternoon, Wisła Kraków's senior juniors hosted Jagiellonia Białystok in Myślenice for the opening round of the Central Junior League. Unfortunately, coach Karol Nędza's players fell 4-0.
From the outset, the Białystok players showed their dominance on the pitch. They pressed the White Star's defenders hard, opening the scoring in the 15th minute.
Following a free kick, Wisła lost control of the Jagiellonia player closing the attack, who slotted the ball into the net. Moments later, both teams could consider themselves fortunate. Wiktor Sierda saved Wisła, while the visitors' shot was off target in a very good position for one of the White Star players. The first half belonged to Jagiellonia, which they confirmed with their second goal.
In the second half, Wisła attempted to surprise the visitors with high-pressing play. They managed to win the ball back in the opponent's half several times, but to no avail. Białystok held out, and in the 67th minute, they launched another devastating counterattack. The visiting player confidently slotted the ball under the crossbar after an individual move in the penalty area.
Three minutes later, Jagiellonia received a second yellow card, and consequently a red card. After this, Wisła regained the initiative and once again found themselves on the receiving end of a counterattack. In a one-on-one situation, the Yellow-Reds striker slotted past Sierda and sealed the match's victory.

"We're not happy with the result or the match as a whole. We made some bizarre mistakes that immediately led to us conceding goals. We need to catch up as quickly as possible and be ready for the next matches," concluded coach Karol Nędza.
