U-15: Lost to Puszcza Niepołomice

The U-15s hosted Puszcza Niepołomice on home soil in their second Central Junior League spring round match. Although the White Star started the match with some initiative, they ultimately had to accept a 1-2 defeat, with Marcin Berezka scoring the only goal for the home side.

The match began evenly, with Wisła slightly ahead in terms of pace and organization. Despite the home side's dominance, clear-cut chances were scarce. Puszcza, playing a cautious defense, waited for their chances, and it was the visitors who came closest to scoring in the first half, when a shot from one of their players hit the post.

A goalless halftime scoreline promised a thrilling second half, and so it proved. Wisła took the lead after a controversial situation in the Puszcza Puszcza penalty area. A Niepołomice defender fouled a White Star player, and the referee immediately pointed to the penalty spot. A confidently taken penalty gave Wisła a 1-0 lead, and it seemed the team would control the match.

Unfortunately, after the goal, Wisła retreated to defense, handing the initiative to Puszcza. This was the beginning of problems, as the visitors began to pose an increasing threat, especially from set pieces. In the 78th minute, the hosts lost the lead after a brilliant free kick that found the back of the net. They hadn't quite recovered when, a minute later, Puszcza scored again – after a corner kick and some confusion in the penalty area, the ball found the back of the net, making the score 2-1.

Despite desperate attempts in the final minutes, Wisła was unable to turn the tables. Puszcza Niepołomice successfully defended their advantageous result and ultimately emerged from Kraków with all three points.
