U-19: Lost clash with Legia

In the 25th round of the U-19 Central Junior League, Wisła Kraków faced league leaders Legia Warsaw away. Despite an ambitious performance from the Kraków side, the hosts took all three points, winning 3-1 in a thrilling encounter. Hugo Woyna-Orlewicz scored the goal for the White Star.

The Kraków team started the match with great confidence. They showed in the opening minutes that they weren't just going to be a foil for the favored Warsaw team. Coach Kaczmarek's team surprised the hosts, who initially struggled to find their rhythm. Wisła held onto the ball longer and were more likely to be in front of their opponents' goal. Although scoring opportunities were few and far between, the visitors were the first to capitalize. In the 17th minute, after a long restart by Stępak, the team launched a swift attack. Pachel delivered a precise pass to Woyna-Orlewicz, who made no mistake in a one-on-one situation, making it 1-0. After the goal, the visitors continued to press, but Legia weren't about to give up easily. The Legionnaires seized the initiative and, after several dangerous moves, secured their victory in the 42nd minute, when one of the home players made a quick run and found himself one-on-one with the Wisła goalkeeper. He went to intervene, but the ball sailed over him and into the empty goal.

The Kraków team entered the second half eager to regain control, but their opponents refused to let them snatch victory. In the 54th minute, a corner kick returned the ball to a Legia player who fired a shot to the far post, which Stępak couldn't save. The situation caught the Kraków team off guard, but the hosts followed suit. A few minutes later, they extended their lead – after a quick attack, the ball found its way to the left, where the Legia player decided to cross to a teammate at the far post. Despite Stępak's attempts to intervene, he couldn't close the gap in time. The header deflected off the goalkeeper and into the net. From that point on, Wisła struggled to regain control of the match. The Legia team forced them into defense, and the Kraków team were unable to counter their opponents' attacks.
