U-17: No points against Stal
On Saturday afternoon, the U-17 team hosted their peers Stal Rzeszów in Myślenice as part of the Central Junior League. Despite a solid performance and numerous chances, the White Star was forced to concede defeat, losing 3-0.
The match could have started strongly for the home side. In the sixth minute, coach Patryk Jałocha's men had a chance to take the lead when a Wisła player found himself face-to-face with the visiting goalkeeper. He managed to get past the Rzeszów goalkeeper, but a defender stood in his way and cleared the ball off the line. The following period saw a period of visual dominance by the White Star players, but it didn't yield the desired result. Around the 35th minute, Stal's players had one of their first shots on goal, shot by Kacper Pisarek, which unfortunately resulted in a goal for the visitors. Although they managed to create another clear-cut opportunity towards the end of the first half, Wisła went into the break with a one-goal deficit.
The setback didn't deter the home side, and the pattern of play remained unchanged in the second half. Kraków maintained possession for long periods, creating opportunities to shoot, leading to Bruno Skoczek forcing the Stal goalkeeper into saves twice, finding himself in one-on-one situations. Moments later, Michał Chramiec had a chance to equalize, but his shot was blocked by a defender. In the final 15 minutes, it was Rzeszów that began to dominate. Stal scored their second goal after a counterattack, and Wisła lost control of the match. The game became less fluid, which the visitors capitalized on. Another counterattack brought them a goal, making it 3-0, securing the match's final score.

"I have very mixed feelings about this match, as I think it was our best match so far. On the one hand, I feel satisfied that our game is progressing and we played a good match, in which we dominated the opponent for most of the match. We had four one-on-one situations with the goalkeeper, so on the other hand, we were very ineffective. The opponent had a lot of quality football and simply outscored us. We need to work on our efficiency, but I wish our play was at this level in other matches, and then the result would definitely be better," concluded U-17 coach Patryk Jałocha.
