On Monday, Wisła Kraków's players began preparations for the autumn round of the Central Junior League, and on Friday they had the opportunity to test their form in the first friendly match.
Wisła's team, in Cadca, faced their peers from Slovakia's Spartak Trnava. After a thrilling match, the White Star players were forced to concede superiority and lost 1-2. All goals were scored after the break, with Aleksander Wróblewski adding his name to the Wisła team's tally, converting a penalty.
"We've just finished our first friendly of the new season. Despite the unfavorable result, I consider this unit to be very valuable. The first half saw us playing high defense and attacking in position. We often won the ball high up the pitch. It's a shame we weren't able to capitalize on the opportunities we created. In the second half, our team switched to defending low and looking for opportunities in a fast attack. This resulted in a move that resulted in a penalty kick." We've gathered the first analysis data and can now fully focus on training camp. The coming days will undoubtedly be challenging but fruitful for the players, " concludes coach Dawid Ślusarczyk.
On Sunday, Wisła players will go to Wola Chorzelowska for a few days' camp, where they will play another friendly match - against Raków Częstochowa (on Friday, July 26).
