U-15: Losing to Korona
Wisła Kraków U-15s hosted Industria Korona Kielce on Saturday. The Kraków team put in a strong performance, but ultimately their opponents proved more effective, winning 2-0.
From the first whistle, Wisła set the pace and controlled the match. In the first half, Kraków created several good chances, but the visiting goalkeeper showed excellent form. In the 15th minute, Kielce launched a counterattack and scored the first goal with a shot from outside the penalty area, opening the scoring. Wisła dominated the remainder of the period, but their control of the game and continued attacking attempts prevented them from equalizing.
The second half didn't change the complexion of the game. Wisła maintained possession and tried to threaten the opponent's goal. Marcin Berezka passed a cross from deep to Vladyslav Kovalski, who slotted the ball into the net, but the referee blew for offside. In the 60th minute, the Kraków team made a mistake in the middle of the pitch. The visiting striker intercepted the ball and scored from 45 meters out to tie the score.
"We feel a lot of sporting anger after a result that doesn't satisfy us. We had our good moments and should have turned them into goals. We spent most of the match in the opponent's half and were able to pose a real threat. We were prepared for the style Korona would present, we were able to break down their defensive lines and protect ourselves from dangerous counterattacks. Unfortunately, in two situations, the opponent gained the upper hand and took the three points. This is an important lesson for us. I am sure that in the next match we will be well prepared for such situations."
