U-15: derby loss against Garbarnia

Wisła Kraków U-15 players lost 2-4 to Garbarnia Kraków in the 11th round of the Central Junior League. Aleksander Wróblewski and Władysław Kowalski were among the Wisła players' scorers.

Wisła entered the derby match on the back of a three-match unbeaten run in the league, and in the last round they defeated KKP Korona Kielce at home, triumphing 6-0. However, in the derby clash with Garbarnia, the team led by coach Dawid Ślusarczyk had to concede the superiority of their rivals.

Wisła were trailing 1-2 at halftime. The hosts quickly opened the scoring, and a few minutes later they followed suit and took a two-goal lead. Aleksander Wróblewski scored for the White Star just before the break. Przemysław Herman had two good chances to get on the scoresheet earlier.

After the break, the opponents struck two more blows, making it 3-1 just five minutes after the restart. Wisła Kraków could only muster one goal, courtesy of Władysław Kowalski, who scored from long range to make it 3-2, sparking renewed hope of a turnaround. However, Garbarnia secured the match's final score with a well-taken penalty.

"We are not satisfied with either the course of the match or the result, which is unsatisfactory for us. We had our chances, but on an individual level we lacked determination in receiving the ball. Matches like these teach us to control ourselves from the first to the last minute. I hope we will draw the right conclusions from this match and play with greater determination in the next match, both defensively and offensively," concluded U-15 coach Dawid Ślusarczyk.

Wisła Kraków remains on 16 points (four wins, four draws, and three losses) in the table after 11 matches. The White Star's next matchup will see them face another derby – this time away against Cracovia. The match is scheduled for Sunday, November 10th at 1:30 PM.
