"It was a chance that gave me a lot" - Krzyżanowski about "Grabka"
Soon, young footballers from Poland and abroad will once again take to the pitch at the Reymonta Stadium to compete in the prestigious Adam Grabka Tournament. This event is both an opportunity for high-level competition and a unique moment in every young player's career. Jakub Krzyżanowski, currently a Torino FC player and a former participant in this very tournament, confirms this.
"I have very fond memories of it, especially the opportunity to play against really strong teams from abroad," says Krzyżanowski, who represented Wisła Kraków U-12 in 2018. "It was a great opportunity to test myself and my skills. I have only positive memories."
The Bronowianka Kraków alumnus, who now plays in the Italian Primavera, admits that one of the most special moments was the opportunity to play at the Wisła Kraków stadium, where he had previously watched matches from the stands.
"I remember that second day of the tournament especially well because my dream came true – I played on the pitch at the stadium on Reymonta Street. As a young boy, I felt great joy and excitement," he recalls.
Today, Jakub is one of the most promising young Polish footballers. He has played for the Wisła Kraków first team and has been representing Torino FC since 2024.
When asked about the tournament's impact on his career, he has no doubts: "It definitely had a very positive impact. Every match, every week teaches me something, but this tournament gave me the opportunity to face strong opponents. I learned a lot from it."
The upcoming Adam Grabka Tournament is a chance to follow in the footsteps of Jakub and many other talented players. What would he like to convey to younger participants?
"Enjoy this tournament," he says. "It's a unique event, with strong teams from Poland and abroad. You have the chance to play in a beautiful stadium, in a unique atmosphere. Just enjoy this moment and have fun with football."
