Sobolewska: The promotion is the seal of our hard work
The 2022/23 football season is behind us, so it's the perfect time to reflect on the senior team's achievements in recent months. As the season concludes, White Star player Adrianna Sobolewska spoke about their promotion, their performance on the pitch, their return from injury, and the club's potential.
The players wearing the white star have had an incredibly successful season, full of emotional sporting moments. Thanks to their impressive performance, resulting in winning all their matches in the spring round, Wisła's players had real reason to celebrate at the end of the season, earning promotion to the third league. As Adrianna Sobolewska points out, the team's success was a result of the players' determination and hard work during training and matches. "I believe each of the girls was fully committed. We put our hearts into training and matches, contributing to the promotion. As a team, we met all our goals from match to match, thanks to which we managed to win all our matches. Promotion is a special moment for us, and I think everyone will remember it for a long time. You could say it's the culmination of our hard work every day and the fulfillment of our ambitions," the White Star player began.
Continuous development
Last season, Adrianna Sobolewska was one of the players who regularly got the chance to play in the squad selected for matches by coach Mateusz Król. How does she assess her performance in recent months? "It's hard to say right now whether I'm satisfied with my performance. There were definitely better performances, but there were also some weaker ones. I know that next season I'd like to reach a higher level, maintain it throughout all matches, and that's my goal. I hope my health allows me to do so. I'm definitely happy that I was able to contribute something and, ultimately, celebrate promotion with the girls," added the Wisła player.
Support and motivation
The White Star player is the daughter of Radosław Sobolewski, the coach of the first men's team at Wisła Kraków. What is Adrianna Sobolewska's attitude towards her football career? "My dad, above all, never pressured me. He didn't want me to feel like I had to do something. That's why I've played many sports throughout my life. Starting with tennis for seven years, and ending with several years of basketball, also at Wisła Kraków. He always gave me options and supported me every step of the way. We always talk, whether after my match or his. It helps me a lot, and I get a lot out of it. One thing I've always heard, and still hear, is: 'Ada, the most important thing is your health,'" said Adrianna Sobolewska.
A promising place
The Reymont club has been focusing on training female players for some time now, continually developing the section by creating new age groups. More and more young, aspiring female footballers are expressing interest in becoming part of the Kraków club. What does playing for Wisła Kraków mean to Adrianna Sobolewska? "Wisła Kraków is a powerful club, regardless of its current situation. Its achievements and past—all of this make it a special place. I believe that if we continue to strive to develop our section, we can go really far. Being in such a club gives us a greater perspective for the future and, above all, pride in being given the opportunity to play with the white star on our chest," concluded the White Star player.
