Crazy finish in Rzeszów: Stal Rzeszów - Wisła Kraków 1:2
It was a successful start to the season for Wisła Kraków, who snatched three points from their opponents with a shot on the line in almost the last action of the match. The Kraków team returned from Rzeszów with a 2-1 victory after their match against Stal, thanks to goals from Angel Rodado and Eneko Satrustegui.
The match began with both teams testing each other's limits. The opening minutes were filled with intense fighting and aggressive play, leading to set pieces. After fifteen minutes, Wisła became more active, increasingly frequenting the home penalty area, but all attempts to cross the ball were met by Stal's defenders. This was until the 25th minute, when Goku took charge, pulled the ball up a few meters, and fired it in. Bieszczad, however, were in control, but the White Star won a corner. In response, the home side took the lead in the 28th minute when Bukowski shot from outside the 16-meter line, capitalizing on a mistake from the Kraków team. Five minutes later, it could have been 1-1, but Rodado slightly miscalculated with a header. The final phase of the match saw alternating attacks. The R22 team came close in the 42nd minute, but amidst the chaos in front of goal, they couldn't get the ball into the net. Moments later, they succeeded, and Angel Rodado scored!
A successful return after the break
Wisła opened the second half with a shot over the crossbar. Moments later, it should have been 2-1 for the visitors, but the ball refused to find the back of the net despite repeated attempts from close range. Stal could breathe a sigh of relief. In the 53rd minute, the Rzeszów team raced towards Raton's goal, launching a counterattack, but fortunately, they were stopped. As the game progressed, the rhythm of the match was maintained, but Stal focused primarily on counterattacks. Wisła, on the other hand, lacked decisiveness and effectiveness, a result of their diminished offensive potential.
The final ten minutes of regulation time saw Wisła intensify their efforts, aided by the new forces brought onto the pitch. Goku and Rodado attempted shots on goal for Bieszczady, but to no avail. Unexpectedly, towards the end of the match – following a VAR intervention – the referee awarded the visitors a penalty, but Danielewicz failed to convert it. Stoppage time brought what the Kraków fans had been waiting for! Eneko Satrustegui scored the winning goal, securing his team the coveted three points!
