Sport, art and the memory of the city - Wisła's victoria

On Saturday, the opening of the project took place at Kościuszko Mound, the heart of which is the painting "Wisła's Victory" - an artistic tribute to winning the Polish Cup in 2024. "Wisła's Victory" by Anna Siek (210 × 490 cm), commemorates Wisła's fifth Polish Cup in history - won on May 2, 2024 after the final against Pogoń Szczecin.

Sport, sztuka i pamięć miasta - Wiślacka victoria - Wisła Kraków® Official Platform

The work was initiated and funded by Krzysztof Gaweł (R48 Museum), with technical support provided by the Wisła History Association. The painting draws on the tradition of Krakow sports painting and recalls the values that have defined Wisła for decades: passion, determination, and tenacity.

Around "Wisła's Victory," we are building a broader narrative about Wisła as part of Krakow's history. Alongside the artwork, unique memorabilia will be presented – from pre-war footballs and soccer boots, through artifacts from the 1920s, to trophies documenting the club's successes, including the 1928 Polish Championship and a Wisła Chicago memento from 1975.

This isn't just an exhibition. It's the story of Wisła Kraków told through art – proof that sporting emotions can have lasting, museum-like significance.

This is a story about the Vistula River as a part of urban memory and culture. We thank everyone involved in organizing the event and the guests who shared this special moment with us.
