Szymon Urbanik with a professional contract
Szymon Urbanik is the latest player to recently sign his first professional contract with Wisła Kraków. The deal, signed by the CLJ U-17 defender, runs until June 30, 2027.
Born on September 14, 2007, Szymon Urbanik joined Reymont in February 2022, having previously represented JKS 1909 Jarosław, where he also grew up. His footballing talent and hard work were recognized by Wisła's coaches, prompting the young player to join the CLJ U-15 team and quickly become a strong member of the team then led by coach Bartosz Bąk. At the start of the current season, Szymon Urbanik joined the CLJ U-17 squad, and has so far showcased his skills in 18 matches.
An important step
The Wisła Kraków defender spoke about his feelings about signing his first professional contract with the club. He says signing the contract is a special moment, a vindication of the hard work put into training and league matches, but also a chance for further development, which the young player intends to take advantage of. "Without a doubt, this is an important moment for me and a huge step in my football career. The opportunity to play for a successful club with such a rich history as Wisła Kraków is something special. I would even say it's a dream come true, so I'm very happy to have been given the opportunity. As I mentioned, being a player of this club is an honor, but it also comes with a great responsibility on and off the pitch," he noted.
The young defender regularly plays in the U-17 Central Junior League, where the Wisła team currently sits in a respectable 4th place. The player briefly summarized his daily work with his teammates and spoke about the valuable lessons he learned from working with the U-17 coaches.
"I really value my collaboration with all the members of the U-17 team's coaching staff. I think it's working flawlessly, and—most importantly—I feel like I can fully learn from the coaches, thereby improving my skills and achieving further football goals. The atmosphere within the entire team is also very positive. We train together, we bond, and we also support each other in difficult times, so we manage to find that balance," he added.
Szymon, congratulations and good luck!
