A friendly victory against LKS Goczałkowice-Zdrój
In the second friendly match, Wisła hosted LKS Goczałkowice-Zdrój on home soil, a match full of exciting moments and twists and turns. Ultimately, it was the Kraków team that emerged victorious, defeating their opponents 4-2. Dominik Sarga, Arkadiusz Ziarko, Szymon Kawała, and Marcin Bartoń (penalty) scored for the visitors.
The friendly match started off well for Aleksander Mikhailov's side, who wasted no time in immediately pressing their opponents. They took the lead in the seventh minute when Dominik Sarga led a solo effort on a counterattack, capping it with a shot on target. The hosts confidently pushed for a second goal, but this time they were caught off guard by their opponents. Exactly seven minutes after opening the scoring, the visitors capitalized on a mistake by the Kraków side in the lead and beat Maciej Wolicki to equalize. Wisła refused to give up, and with full motivation, they created further scoring opportunities, causing havoc in the opponents' defense. In the 19th minute, Kamil Kaczówka had a chance to prove himself, but his shot proved too soft to catch the Goczałkowice goalkeeper off guard. A golden opportunity arose in the 30th minute when the home side won a corner kick, and after a clearance, Michał Prochwicz fired in a shot that missed the target by centimeters. The breakthrough came a few dozen seconds later, when Kacper Chełmecki stepped up and the ball found the feet of Arkadiusz Ziarko. The player slotted the ball into the net with a precise shot around the post, giving his team the lead. The visitors, desperately searching for an equalizer, had more influence in the closing stages. Their attempts ultimately proved futile, as they failed to find a second goal before the break.
Better performance of Wisła
The second half was no less exciting, and with the referee's whistle, both teams once again began to fight for control. Wisła proved more effective at this, quickly extending their lead over their opponents. In the 47th minute, Michał Zimon, crossing from a corner, headed the ball to Szymon Kawała, who placed it perfectly, slotting it into the net. The visitors weren't about to sit idly by and attacked their goal just five minutes later. First, the White Star goalkeeper saved a shot, then the Goczałkowice player chipped in, but his shot was unfortunate to hit Wolicki. The visitors finally secured their victory in the 57th minute, when, after a move from the left flank, they reduced the deficit to 3-2. Wisła had a chance to respond moments later – in the 59th minute, after a mistake by the Goczałkowice goalkeeper, Michał Zimon's shot went wide. Shortly afterward, Alex Bugaj passed to Dawid Gap, who was fouled in the penalty area, prompting the referee to award a penalty. Marcin Bartoń stepped up to the penalty spot and converted the set piece, scoring the hosts' fourth goal. However, the visitors were not giving up and soon gave the Wisła goalkeeper another hard time. In the 70th minute, Dominik Sarga lost a header after a corner, which the opponents capitalized on, making it 4-3. Dawid Gap tried to surprise the Goczałkowice goalkeeper with a shot from about 35 meters out as he emerged from goal, but the ball flew over the crossbar. Despite further attempts by both sides in the closing stages, the score remained unchanged.
