Rudé: We are prepared for any scenario

The last round before the international break will feature Wisła's home match against Miedź Legnica. As usual, the White Star coach met with journalists to discuss preparations for the clash.

The following injured players will not play in Friday’s match:

- Kamil Broda and Miki Villar - who started individual training, already partly on the pitch;
- Patryk Gogół, Bartosz Talar, Vullnet Basha, David Junca and Igor Sapała – who are undergoing rehabilitation;
- Jakub Stępak - who has an elbow ligament injury and is in the process of rehabilitation.

Meanwhile, Anton Chiczkan traveled to Belarus for personal reasons. The club has announced Kacper Szewczyk for the match against Miedź, who will be on the bench.

The second half of the match in Gdynia revealed a completely different side to Wisła Kraków. What is the Wisła Kraków coach's strategy for improving their mentality? "When we talk about the match against Arka Gdynia, we started playing face-to-face with them. However, when we conceded the goal, we never got back to that level of play. We were completely off the mark until the 45th minute. Of course, it had to do with managing our emotions. We talked about it at halftime and then got back into the game in the second half. It was a completely different experience," he began. "It's not about the coaches, it's not a problem we have here at Wisła. In every single club I've been to, for example in Monterrey. 55,000 in the stands. Inter Miami – a big club, David Beckham's project, a lot of pressure. It was the same everywhere. A lot of pressure, and the players always had to play at a high level. But they are people, they have good days and bad days. They have their worries. They are only human, they are not robots. The best thing we can do is be with them, stand behind them as a whole club. When they feel that we are truly with them, they will feel less pressure, they will make fewer mistakes, and everything will be easier. Of course, we are working on this as a staff, but I believe that everyone at the club should be involved in being there for the players," he added.

Szymon Sobczak put in another strong performance, scoring a goal that earned the Kraków team a point. "It's clear that Sobczak has a huge impact on our game when he comes off the bench. We're obviously open to playing with two strikers. That's no problem for us. For example, in the match against Widzew, we played all extra time with three strikers. Of course, we'll evaluate our situation. We'll consider all options to field the best possible eleven to get the three points," he said.

What's the competition like at right back, and how do individual errors impact the starting eleven in subsequent matches? "I think we have very strong competition in most positions, and right back is one of those positions. Of course, Szot made a mistake in the last match, but my players can make mistakes. If we forbid them from doing so, it will be impossible for them to play the way we want. If we press high, we have to take into account that mistakes can occur. For me, the most important thing was that the team got behind him and helped him get back into the game. He received support. After conceding a goal, he came back into the game and played well until he was substituted," he noted.

The Miedź Legnica coach predicts his team will play boldly at the right-22. "Of course, I've received information about what the opposing coach said. I hope it will be an open match, especially for our fans. We know they try to play with two false nines, trying to be aggressive in the middle and in the penalty area. We're prepared for any scenario, to control the game. We'll try to be aggressive with and without the ball from the first minutes. If they arrive with that attitude, it will be a very interesting match for our fans," he said.

The clash with Miedź closes out the second half of the season. What will the international break look like? "The most important thing right now is to understand how important a match awaits us before the international break. We need to get three points in front of our home crowd. After that, we'll plan to balance the load. We'll play a friendly against Stal, and those who currently have fewer minutes will play. Of course, it's crucial that the players rest during the international break. But above all, the most important thing is to win before the break. This will be important both for our goal and for our attitude towards what awaits us after the international break," he explained.

Which players will be ready to play after the international break? "I hope that most of the players currently injured will return after the international break. If you look at our April schedule, you'll see it's very difficult. There are many challenges ahead, many away games, and we will need a lot of players," concluded Albert Rudé.
