Rodado: When you score goals and the team wins, it's just great
Two goals from Angel Rodado earned the White Star a perfect score in their match against Polonia Warsaw. What did the club's zR22 hero say after the final whistle?
"During the game, we were leading 1-0, had chances to score a second goal, and then we probably would have played more calmly. But Polonia – let's be honest – also played a good match. Our opponents weren't afraid to play football, they tried to score. In the end, they succeeded. In my opinion, they played really well, and it was a very difficult match for us. Luckily for us, we had that last chance at the very end, and I'm very glad I took advantage of it. We're winning, which was the most important thing for us. Thanks to this, we're finishing this part of the season with good results. Now we need to rest and then recharge our batteries to come back as strong as possible," said the Wisła striker.
After the break, the visitors began to assert themselves. What was the reason for this?
"I don't know, but sometimes when we analyze all this, we see—you can see it yourselves—that there are moments when we can be faster, play the ball better, and above all, do everything that happens on the pitch more calmly. But sometimes there's an opponent who is also faster. We have to keep that in mind, draw conclusions, but it's also hard not to be happy now, because even if it wasn't our best match, we still won. And that's what we need—wins even in matches where things aren't going perfectly," he added.
"When we remember last year and how many points we were behind the leaders and how difficult a situation we were in... It's completely different now. That goal in the last minute of the match against Polonia was the result of the entire team's work, and thanks to it we have the victory. This feeling must stay with us during the winter break. We must come back strong, we must continue on the same path in the spring," he continued.
Angel Rodado has scored eleven league goals and two in the Polish Cup. Is he satisfied?
"Of course! It's important because when you score goals, your confidence grows. When you score goals and the team wins, it's just great. This is a special time for me, but we also need some rest, and then we have to come back to work with fresh minds," he noted.
