Rodado: The atmosphere in the stands was as hot as hell
Wisła's top scorer, who confirmed his form in the FORTUNA Polish Cup final by scoring the winning goal, confirmed his success. After the match, the Spaniard raised the Cup and accepted the MVP award.
"There were so many emotions at that moment. But I also had in mind what happened in the match against Resovia. I thought we couldn't concede again, we had to win this Cup," began Angel Rodado. "This is definitely the best moment of my career! I don't even know how to describe how I feel, how much winning this trophy means to me. What happened was simply incredible!" he added.
The best player of the match? Angel Rodado! How does he feel about this distinction? "It's nice, of course, but it's not the most important thing. For me, everyone worked hard for this award. Of course, we were losing for a long time, Eneko saved us in the last minute. When something like this happens, you think God is on your side. And we've had similar things happen to us in several matches in this competition before. In the end, we did it, we won," he noted.
The White Star team was one goal better, although the victory against Portowcy didn't come easily. "From my perspective, from the pitch, I had the feeling that we were playing a good match, that we could win it. Of course, there were some weaker moments, but we should celebrate the good ones first," he continued.
Finally, Wisła fans were there to celebrate! "It was incredible. The atmosphere in the stands was as hot as hell. With something like this, we felt we had to give not 100 percent, but 200 percent, for ourselves, but also for our fans. They deserved it, as they suffered greatly when they couldn't travel to our away games. They finally got the chance to attend such a big match at the National Stadium. It was wonderful!" he added.
The R22 players still have a plan to fulfill: promotion to the Ekstraklasa. "I hope so. I have a feeling now that if we did something like that in a match against an Ekstraklasa team, we can do it in any match in the first league. We may have some bad moments, but we always have to be ready to change our situation," he concluded.
