A sure victory against Olimpia Osieczany
On Sunday afternoon, Wisła traveled to Osieczany for a league match against local team Olimpia. The Kraków team emerged victorious, defeating their opponents 8-2.
The White Star players started the match very well, creating chances from the outset, which resulted in a goal scored by Lilla Mikulińska just a few dozen seconds after the referee's opening whistle. As the match progressed, the players continued to execute their goals, launching attacks and attempting to threaten their opponents' goal. The results were not long in coming, as in the ninth minute, Zuzanna Biernacka found the back of the net from a set piece. The Wisła players refused to rest on their laurels, finding the back of the net twice more over the next 10 minutes, with Anna Płaszczyk scoring on target. The Olimpia players persisted in their attempts to fight back against their dominant opponents and capitalize on opportunities to score. In the 20th minute, the Osieczan team secured their victory with a penalty kick, which was capped by a confident shot straight into the top corner. After the conceding goal, the visitors' play became less fluid, while Olimpia's players put up increasing resistance, pushing for more goals. However, Reymont's players soon regained control, and just before the end of the first half , Katarzyna Kuciel extended Wisła's lead.
Impressive shots and converted chances
After the break, both teams struggled to create opportunities, but Wisła's players proved more consistent, celebrating their sixth goal shortly after the break, a goal won by themselves and a third by Anna Płaszczyk . The Kraków team refused to give up, and in the 60th minute, the referee found a foul on one of Olimpia's players in the Wisła penalty area, awarding the visitors a penalty. Moments later, Monika Markiewicz found the ball, capitalizing on a set piece and giving her team their seventh goal on target. Late in the match, Marianna Gurba fired the ball into the net near the post, sealing the White Star's victory in the match. Before the final whistle, the visitors managed to beat the visiting goalkeeper once more, making the score 8-2.
"We started the match very well, leading 4-0 after 15 minutes. However, after that, we had a much weaker moment in our game, conceding a goal and unable to create scoring opportunities. In the future, we need to work on minimizing such moments during the match. I'm most pleased with the lack of injuries from this match, as well as Marianna Gurba's debut goal. Now we want to focus solely on the tough match ahead of us at home against Radziszowianka," said Wiślaczki coach Mateusz Król.
