Summary of the weekend of Wisła Kraków's young teams
The U13 team had an intense weekend, competing in the Radziszowianka Young Girls CUP 2024 tournament on Saturday and playing a friendly against Młodzi Przeboj Wolbrom on Sunday. The U16 team competed for league points against Unia Lublin in the Central Junior League on Saturday.
U13: Radziszowianka Young Girls CUP 2024 Tournament
"Saturday's tournament in Radziszów was a success. In the group stage, we experienced every possible result – a win against I Brzesko (3-0), a loss against Czarni Sosnowiec (1-0), and a draw with FSA Kraków (0-0). Overall, we advanced to the semi-finals, where we lost to Rzeszowska Resovia 4-1. The team from Podkarpacie played a very good match and ultimately won the entire tournament. In the match for third place, we faced AZS UJ Kraków. After a good competition, we won 3-1, finishing the tournament in third place. A very good experience for our team, and the tournament organization was so good that we will gladly return there in the next edition. Thank you very much for the invitation, Radziszów team," concluded Adrian Kruba.
U13: Sparring with Młodzi Przebojem Wolbrom
"On Sunday morning we played a friendly match with the Wolbrom Football Academy Młodzi Przebojem. Another friendly match with the team from Wolbrom (recently 4:2 for Wolbrom) ended 4:3 in our favor. The result is, of course, pleasing, but it is a secondary issue, because in the above-mentioned friendly match we set ourselves specific goals, including opening the game from the goal, group actions, building an advantage in the side sectors and finishing in the high zone. We managed to achieve them to some extent, but I see how much work lies ahead of us to feel comfortable in this. It is certainly worth noting that with about 18 minutes before the end we were losing 3:1. The girls showed that they do not give up because of the goal advantage and are able to fight until the end, first scoring a goal against the opponent (Amelia Kaszowska), and then two goals in two minutes in the last minutes of the match (Z. Baran, W. Zimoląg), which ultimately resulted in the victory for our team. "Fighting until the end and scoring goals at the end of the match is a very valuable experience, which I hope my players will remember in each subsequent match," concluded Adrian Kruba.
CLJU16: Match against Unia Lublin
Unia Lublin - Wisła Kraków 9:1
Goal for Wisła Kraków: Weronika Piech
"Unfortunately, we're playing in this competition with a younger age group – we're still learning, gaining experience, and we need to be patient to see results. Despite the heavy defeat, the girls managed to create several well-organized plays that ended with a shot on goal. A factor significantly affecting our results is the high turnover in the team caused by several injuries," summarized Andrzej Żądło.
