Summary of the preparation period of the U-19 and U-17 Wisła Kraków teams
On Saturday, August 9th, Wisła Kraków's U-19 and U-17 teams return to action. Both teams will face their peers from Resovia Rzeszów in the first round of the Central Junior League. Wisła's U-19s will play away at 12:00 PM, while the U-17s will play in Myślenice.
Preparations for the 2025/26 season began on July 7. The U-19 team, led by coach Patryk Jałocha, and the U-17 team, led by coach Krystian Żakowicz, have been training intensively and playing friendly matches for the past month to test their form before the league challenges.
Wisla Krakow U-19
The team began its friendly series on July 12th with a match against Tatran Presov. The match ended in a 3-2 victory, with goals from the trialists and Jakub Czubernat. The next friendly, played on July 19th in Wrocław against Śląsk Wrocław, resulted in a resounding 4-1 victory. Dawid Szczepaniak, Szymon Urbanik, and Milan Olej (both) scored.
On July 26th, Wisła hosted Raków Częstochowa in Myślenice. The match ended 3-1, with goals from Milan Olej, a trialist, and Tomasz Sałaj. The final pre-league test took place on August 2nd, against Unia Tarnów. With goals from Eryk Daczewski, Jakub Czubernat, and a trialist, Wisła won 3-0, ending the pre-season unbeaten.
Wisla Krakow U-17
The U-17 team began their friendly season on July 12th with a 2-1 victory over Tatran Presov, with Przemysław Gołąb and Kacper Wolańczyk scoring. On July 18th, in an away match against Śląsk Wrocław, Wisła won again 2-1, with goals from Alan Buczek and Aleksander Wróblewski.
A few days later, on July 23rd, MFK Ružomberok visited Myślenice. The match ended in a resounding 5-2 victory, with Wróblewski, Buczek, Kovalskyi, Idziak, and Bąk scoring the goals. Three days later, the team faced Raków Częstochowa, losing 1-2; Mateusz Pałka scored the consolation goal. Their final pre-league opponent was Zagłębie Sosnowiec. The match, played on August 2nd, ended in a 4-1 defeat, with Alan Bąk scoring the only goal for Wisła.
Opening of the 2025/26 Season
Both teams have had an intense month, during which they tested themselves against a variety of opponents, including foreign ones. This coming Saturday, Wisła will face their first league challenge – their match against Resovia Rzeszów, kicking off at 12:00 PM. The U-19s will face the away side, while the U-17s will play in Myślenice.
