PGF Blind Football League: Wisła devastates Wrocław
Wisła Blind Football Kraków returns from Wrocław in excellent spirits, as they will spend the summer as leaders of the PGF Blind Football League! Our players won two matches, scoring fourteen goals, including four against Śląsk Wrocław BF.
The Blind Football team spent last weekend in the capital of Lower Silesia, where they faced BTS Rekord Bielsko-Biała BF and Śląsk Wrocław BF. Although the match against the hosts in Round 2 was considered crucial and potentially the most difficult, no one wanted to underestimate the less experienced Bielsko-Biała team.
"The locker room was buzzing with excitement about the match against Śląsk, but we knew the first step would be the match against Rekord BF. We did our job better than expected. The coach rotated the players a lot, allowed us to play, try new things while sticking to the tactical plan. This resulted in ten goals, including two by me. I'm happy with them, as I'm proving to myself, the staff, and my teammates that my work is bringing tangible results. I hope this is just the beginning and that my contribution to our team's success will only increase over time," said Gabriel Olech, Wisła BF's youngest attacking player.
After the final whistle, the scoreboard showed a 10-0 score for Biała Gwiazda BF. The scorers were Marcin Ryszka, Paweł Zinkow (twice each), Gabriel Olech, and Martin Jung, who found the net five times.
On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., a crucial match of the round took place, crucial for the standings ahead of Round 3 of the PGF Blind Football League. Śląsk Wrocław BF dropped points before their match against Biała Gwiazda BF following a surprising 0-0 draw with Warta Poznań BF, forcing the home team to fight even harder to close the gap to first place. Wisła quickly reorganized all of Wojskowa's plans when Paweł Zinkow found the net after less than a minute of play, and Martin Jung doubled the lead 2-0 60 seconds later.
"We couldn't have dreamed of a better start to this match. A 2-0 lead after two actions in the opening seconds allowed us to take complete control of the game. We began to dictate the game faster than we had anticipated. Throughout the entire match, we played a perfect match, exploiting our opponent's problems and weaknesses, which resulted in further goals," praised Dominik Foryś, coach of the BF section, for his players.
In the second half, Biała Gwiazda BF added two more goals. Marcin Ryszka made it 3-0 with a precise free kick. The opener, Paweł Zinkow, made it 4-0, converting Kacper Domagała's wonderful assist into a fantastic goal.
The points earned in Wrocław give Wisła BF a two-point lead over Warta BF, who are in second place. It's worth noting that our section has played one match fewer than the Poznań team chasing them. The final round, in which the White Star will host teams from Zabrze, Bielsko, and Poznań in Kraków, will take place on September 7th and 8th.
"We've done a fantastic job so far. We have five wins in five matches, a perfect score, 25 goals scored, and kept a clean sheet. We have three final matches ahead of us, and we'll do everything we can to win the title on our own terms. There's still a long way to go until September, and a lot can happen, but we'll undoubtedly do everything we can to make this historic season even more historic," emphasized team captain Marcin Ryszka.
The White Star BF players will have a longer break from league competitions, but this does not mean a complete break from rattling footballs, as some of the players will represent Poland during two national team tournaments scheduled for June and August.
We congratulate the players and staff of Wisła BF on a successful weekend and keep our fingers crossed for their success during the upcoming challenges!
