Summary of Socios Wisła Kraków events in 2024

The past year, 2024, was full of new initiatives and exciting events at Socios Wisła. We invite you to take a look at the last 12 months.

January

The beginning of the year in the Association marked a change in the organization's procedures and regulations. Among other changes, the Socios Council Regulations were amended, introducing a new voting system. According to the adopted rules, the Association will hold at least three votes per year regarding the use of funds collected from membership dues – one annual and two semi-annual. This resulted in the selection of new additional goals in the following months, with ideas for these coming directly from the organization's regular members.

February

In February, the Socios team, which normally plays in the FLS league, participated in the Business Club Trophy warmUP. In the tournament organized by Wisła Biznes, the Socios team finished second.

March

In March, during an extraordinary vote, Socios members decided to fund the implementation of a reusable eco-cube system. The project cost PLN 150,000. This achieved another goal, generating additional matchday revenue for the club, which totaled PLN 589,980.00 throughout 2024! A portion of the profit from the sale of eco-cubes goes to the Henryk Reyman Monument Fund.

Concurrently, another vote was held regarding financial support for the football club. In the final vote, Socios Wisła members responded positively to the request of TS Wisła Kraków SA President Jarosław Królewski, in which he requested the Association's support in financing the club's current expenses. Socios Wisła's assistance proved invaluable at this very difficult time for the White Star. The PLN 1,500,000 funding covered a significant portion of the club's licensing obligations and assisted in obtaining a UEFA license, which entitles the club to play in European competitions.

At the end of the month, during the Wisła Biznes Gala, the Association received an extraordinary distinction in the "Club Sponsor" category.

April

Wiślackie, the official beer of Wisła Kraków, has been relaunched four years after its launch! The graphic design has been refreshed, and a non-alcoholic beer has been introduced. A portion of the proceeds from beer sales will continue to support the construction of the Henryk Reyman monument, which is planned to be erected on the grounds of the Municipal Stadium. PLN 137,153.92 has already been earmarked for this purpose.

Just before the anniversary of Henryk Reyman's death, renovation work on the gravestone of the Wisła Kraków legend was completed. The Socios Association financed the work.

April 14th marked a historic moment for the Socios Wisła Association. The Socios Wisła Association reached the 3,000-member mark!

At the end of the month, all activities were geared towards the upcoming Polish Cup final. The Socios Association distributed packages to its members and supported the club's organizational activities and supporter groups.

May

In May, fans' dreams came true! History was made before our eyes! Wisła Kraków won the Polish Cup! It was also the largest away trip in the history of the White Star fans. Nearly 13,500 fans, wearing special, dedicated jerseys, sat in the Wisła sections. We estimate that just as many occupied the neutral sections.

Upon returning to Krakow, the trophy was presented to Socios! During the meeting, attended by over 500 people, Socios members viewed the trophy and participated in a training session of the Wisła Kraków first team. The meeting was graced by the presence of the President of Wisła Kraków, the coaching staff, and several White Star players. There were plenty of photos and autographs!

As in previous years, the Association became a Partner of the Wanda Tumidajewicz and Józef Moszczak Memorial, organized by the TS Wisła Volleyball Section. The 40th anniversary edition of the girls' volleyball tournament – ​​created in memory of the distinguished coaches of the Sports Association – took place at the TS Wisła facilities. More than a dozen teams from across the country, comprising nearly several hundred young players, participated in the tournament. The aim of the event is not only to popularize volleyball among young people but also to promote our club and city.

June

The General Assembly of Socios Wisła Kraków was held at the beginning of the month. The current Board was reappointed for another term. The Audit Committee also remained unchanged.

The highlight of the month was undoubtedly the grand opening of the artificial turf pitch at the TS Wisła grounds, the construction of which was co-financed by the Association! Thanks to the PLN 1,000,000 donation, a modern facility was created that Wisła youth can use without any problems!

July

Ticket distribution for European competitions has begun! During the closed sale, Socios Wisła members had priority access to tickets for matches in the Europa League and UEFA Conference League.

On the eve of the first round match of the Europa League, Socios members visited the stadium at R22 with several hundred people to take part in a promotional campaign and create a large SOCIOS inscription in the middle of the pitch.

In July, an agreement with the club for the upcoming season was also signed. The organization's logo continues to adorn the sleeve of the first team's match jersey, and the support of its members has translated into various areas of the 13-time Polish champions' operations. As part of its partnership with the club, the Association has assumed patronage of the Man of the Match poll. During each round of the 2024/2025 season, the best player will be selected by Socios members, who will receive the Socios Man of the Match title and a unique trophy! Under the agreement, the organization also supports the club's "Wiślacy i go to school" campaign. Socios also continues to support the "Young Army of the White Star" sector, which has yielded results in the following weeks – numerous new groups of young fans have begun visiting R22.

During the six-month vote, Socios Wisła members decided to allocate PLN 150,000 to the goal of purchasing training and analytical equipment for the Wisła Kraków Academy. The equipment will be used during training by the youngest age groups (U7-U16). Among the items purchased were rebounders, training mannequins, and targets, as well as tactical boards, PlayerMaker trackers, and two VEO cameras.

The organization entered the league as Match Sponsor, assuming patronage of the Wisła Kraków-Polonia Warsaw match. The Association's logo appeared on promotional graphics for the match and was also displayed throughout the stadium and its surroundings. Socios members took advantage of the competitions and the children's escorts that escorted both teams onto the pitch at R22!

August

In August we celebrated the 6th birthday of Socios Wisła!

The efforts to install floodlights on the artificial turf pitch, co-financed by the Association, which have been ongoing for several months, have been successfully completed! Thanks to the efforts of the Socios Wisła board, a sponsor was found to finance the investment – ​​a huge thank you to Konrad Wierzbicki. A few weeks later, the lights were on at Wisła's new facility at R22! This provided even better training conditions for the young Wisła players!

September

Due to the natural disaster caused by flooding, the Socios Wisła Association initiated the "Wisła Fans for Flood Victims" campaign. The involvement of the Wisła community exceeded our expectations! Over 500 people participated in the fundraiser, raising PLN 42,273.33. The funds were used to purchase the most needed items. In-kind donations from individuals and businesses were also collected. Nearly 30 pallets containing essential equipment (including dehumidifiers and generators), food and water, hygiene products, household chemicals, clothing, and pet food were delivered to those in need. The value of the donations is estimated at nearly PLN 65,000. The aid was delivered to the Staroste of Brzeg County (Opole Voivodeship) and representatives of the Stal Brzeg football club. Thanks to the partnership with InPost, all donations were transported free of charge.

October

Socios Wisła supported the Wisła Historia Association with PLN 20,000 in organizing the Retro Match between Wisła Kraków and Pogoń Lwów. As a result, they became the Main Partner of this extraordinary event. Alongside representatives from Wisła Historia and the Wisła Kraków Old Boys, Socios members also participated in the reenactment of the legendary match, portraying the White Star players from a century ago. The funds provided allowed for the purchase of some kits and the production of a documentary film about Józef Piłsudski's visit to the Wisła match!

During the cyclical campaign Cleaning the Graves of Wisła, together with the Wisła History Association, the memory of deceased Wisła people resting in Rakowice in Kraków was honored.

November

On Saturday, November 23rd, we hosted a meeting of Socios Wisła members in the Presidential Box of the stadium on Reymonta Street. During the event, members of the Association had the opportunity to discuss topics of interest to fans with Wisła Kraków's President, Jarosław Królewski, and the club's Managing Director, Florentyna Kulig. Also in attendance were Wisła Kraków's first-team players, Dawid Szot and Giannis Kiakos.

A special anniversary took place during the Wisła Kraków - ŁKS Łódź match! The Dobczyce Cultural Fan Club celebrated its 200th trip to the White Star's matches! For over 12 years, they have been with us at every match, and thanks to them, many young fans visited Reymont for the first time and have stayed with us ever since! To mark the occasion, the Socios Association donated 200 commemorative scarves for each of the young Wisła fans associated with the Cultural Fan Club. Representatives of the KKK also received a commemorative plaque from the President of Wisła Kraków.

December

A special event took place at the beginning of the month. Patryk Letkiewicz, who had a dream debut for the White Star first team (he won Man of the Match three times during the fall season), decided to join the Socios team. We're thrilled that the Wisła Kraków Academy graduate will be supporting the White Star not only on the pitch!

The Socios Association has joined the effort to help those most in need and participated in the Noble Parcel campaign for the third time. This time, the support went to a family from Libiąż. They purchased essential items, including household appliances and a sofa, for a total of PLN 6,988.39. The family also received in-kind donations from both individual and corporate donors.

December concluded with a final vote. Socios members decided to allocate PLN 150,000 to the goal of renovating the locker rooms or purchasing and adapting containers for the youngest players using the TS Wisła pitch. We will begin achieving this goal in early 2025! It's worth emphasizing the significant role the Socios Association plays in the club's operations – over the past twelve months, the White Star has received a staggering PLN 1,800,000 from the organization, and in just over six years, the amount of support has exceeded PLN 8 million (PLN 8,127,879.59 to be exact).
