Return with a Shield: #RESWIS Announcement
The final stop on the away leg will be Rzeszów. The match will take place under unusual circumstances, on Tuesday, April 23rd at 8:30 PM. In the 29th round of the FORTUNA 1 League, Wisła Kraków will battle for points against Resovia.
After a remarkable comeback from 0-2 down to 3-2 against Znicz, Wisła will now face local team Resovia, which is fighting to stay in the league. The Rzeszów team currently sits in 16th place in the league table, two points adrift of safety. The players, coached by Rafał Ulatowski, won their last match in Tychy against GKS, closing the gap on Polonia Warszawa to within one victory.
In Rzeszów, our captain and goal scorer in the last match, Alan Uryga, will be suspended due to an excessive number of yellow cards. However, the injury situation in the White Star team is improving daily. Players recovering from injuries are gradually being given increased workloads, fighting for their speedy return to the pitch. With the return of Rodado, Alfaro, and Gogół, the offensive line has been significantly strengthened. In a press conference, coach Albert Rudé assessed the competitiveness in this period as very high, which should translate into positive attacking accents and effective finishing.
Both clubs, admittedly in slightly different situations, desperately need to consistently pick up points. Wisła is fighting for the best possible position in the fight for promotion to the Ekstraklasa, while the Polish national team is determined to avoid relegation to the second division. Matches against teams fighting for relegation are often described as "trap" matches, especially with only a few rounds remaining. Tomorrow, we can expect a fierce battle for every inch of the pitch.
Together for victory!
