Dotting the T's: #KFLWIS Preview
Wisła Kraków will play the away return leg against KF Llapi today, July 18th, at 4:30 PM EST. At stake in this two-legged tie is advancement to the next round of Europa League qualifying, where the winner will face Austrian side Rapid Vienna.
In last week's match, played at R22, it was crucial to secure a safe goal advantage with the support of the home crowd. They succeeded, and thanks to strikes from Sapała and Rodado, Wisła Kraków can head into the second leg with a two-goal cushion. Importantly, despite the rather gritty play, injuries were avoided, meaning coach Moskal will be able to use a proven lineup.
Judging by individual performances, the winners of the first leg were undoubtedly the two debutants – Olivier Sukiennicki and Rafał Mikulec. Starting on the left wing, Sukiennicki demonstrated great commitment throughout the attack, while Mikulec, playing behind him in defense, repeatedly neutralized the Kosovo attack. Giannis Kiakos also made a solid substitution, strengthening the defensive third for the final minutes.
In addition to their two-goal deficit, KF Llapi will also have to worry about the absence of their coach, who was shown a red card at the end of the first leg. Add to this the absence of fans, and the situation for our opponents seems incredibly difficult. However, Wisła cannot lose focus, as the players in navy blue, known for their fighting spirit, will undoubtedly be searching for a way to turn the tide of this two-legged tie until the final whistle.
Fight, Vistula!
