For the win in #RCHWIS!
On Saturday afternoon, we'll be treated to a spectacle we'll remember for a long time. The Silesian Stadium will host the Champions League match between Wisła Kraków and Ruch Chorzów.
On the pitch, Wisła will face a friendly club with a record attendance – according to forecasts – of over 53,000 spectators! This will break the attendance record for any club match played on Polish soil in the 21st century, previously set by the White Star against Pogoń in the final of their Polish Cup victory a year ago.
An additional historical touch is added by the fact that legends of both clubs, Kazimierz Kmiecik and Jan Benigier, will lead their former teams onto the pitch. They are Olympic medalists from Montreal, and their presence alone can capture the imagination of fans.
We also don't have to worry about the refereeing. The event will be officiated by world-class referee Szymon Marciniak, who has received numerous international awards.
This will definitely be a tough match for the White Star. Kraków coach Mariusz Jop says bluntly: "Ruch will be the favorite in this match." However, Wisła also has its arguments. During the preseason, Wisła won four matches and lost only two. Despite a false start against Znicz Pruszków, the Reymont players still show their fighting spirit, and this could be the deciding factor, as was the case in August's home match, when they defeated their opponent 3-1 after the Angel Rodado Show. Statistics show that they have the best attacking structure in the league.
What makes it even more interesting is that with a positive result, Wisła would not only get closer to the fourth-placed Blues in the table, but it would also be a very favorable result for achieving their main goal, which is promotion to the Ekstraklasa.
Ruch will approach the match armed with new signings. Czech left-back Dominik Preisler (who has a good chance of making his debut in this match) and Yegor Tsykalo, who has already impressed in midfield, are particularly promising. Wisła could be aided by new/old player Marko Poletanovic, who is blunt: a club like Wisła doesn't belong in the first division.
A true spectacle awaits not only on the pitch but also off it. Both clubs have provided entertainment for their fans before and during the match. Ruch Chorzów has provided entertainment thanks to its partners. Wisła, on the other hand, boasts shooting competitions held at goal 1A before the match, as well as sticker giveaways and an official fan shop. During halftime, we'll be able to enjoy the music of renowned DJ C-Bool! All of these attractions are sure to be as electrifying as the action on the pitch.
Go, Go, Go! White Star!
