At R22: 4.03 - 10.03

Another week has passed, during which many important events took place with the White Star in the background. So we decided to remind you of what happened at Reymonta Street in the last seven days.

Wisła Kraków Old Boys are the Kraków Indoor Champions!

It's probably obvious that after their successful performances, they – the White Star's old boys – will stand on the top step of the podium in the indoor edition! Just one round before the end of the competition, the Wisła team secured the Kraków Indoor Championship.

And all this was possible thanks to the victory over Cracovia 8:4 with goals from Piotr Brożek (2), Sławomir Peszko (2), Paweł Brożek (1), Arkadiusz Głowacki (1), Grzegorz Krzysiak and an own goal.

The derby featured: Maciej Musiał, Arkadiusz Głowacki, Paweł Suwała, Zbigniew Dulba, Jacek Matyja, Jakub Żurek, Paweł Gawęcki, Grzegorz Pater. Bottom row from left: Rafał Boguski, Piotr Brożek, Sławomir Peszko, Paweł Brożek, Zdzisław Janik, Marcin Wasilewski, Jakub Błaszczykowski, Grzegorz Krzysiak.

Congratulations!

Poland U-18: Jakub Krzyżanowski and Jakub Stępak called up

Two Wisła players – Jakub Krzyżanowski and Jakub Stępak – were among those called up to the Polish U-18 squad for friendly matches against Cyprus, scheduled for March 21 and 24.

Good luck, gentlemen!

Kacper Duda ORLEN OIL Player of the Month

Together with the Club's Strategic Sponsor, ORLEN OIL, we periodically select a Player of the Month, who, according to fans, has performed best for Wisła Kraków. For February, Wisła Kraków's midfielder, Kacper Duda, was particularly appreciated by fans!

Well done, Kacper!

Wisła II: Home matches at the Prądniczanka stadium

The team, led by coach Bartosz Bąk, is changing the venue for its home matches and in the spring round will host its rivals at the Prądniczanki Kraków stadium at ul. św. Andrzeja Boboli 5 in Kraków. An agreement has already been signed.

The White Star reserve team will return to competition in the JAKO IV League in mid-March. In the past round, Wisła played almost all of their home matches at the Dalin Myślenice stadium, but in the second half of the season they will move to the Prądniczanka Kraków stadium, where they will fight for further league points.

Wisła II Kraków has already played at the stadium in their final home match of the fall season, facing Barciczanka Barcice. On Sunday, March 17th at 11:00 AM, the Kraków team will kick off their spring season at the stadium with a league match against Watra Białka Tatrzańska.

"We received information that the Dalin Myślenice authorities are planning to modernize the facility and that playing matches there during the spring round will be impossible. We found another solution and managed to reach an agreement with the Prądniczanka authorities," says Krzysztof Kołaczyk, director of the Wisła Kraków Football Academy.

The Wisła Business 2024 Gala is behind us

The White Star business community met at the Novotel Kraków City West on March 7 at the Wisła Biznes 2024 Gala. This was the fourth edition of this event.

The idea behind the Gala is to recognize companies that have made a significant commitment to Wisła Kraków throughout the year. During the event, we traditionally presented statuettes in five categories: Club Sponsor, Wisła Kraków Commitment, Unique Project, Innovative Project, and Business Loyalty. For the first time, we also recognized winners in a new category: Wisła Biznes Personality. The awards went to individuals who are involved in numerous areas of cooperation with the club and often dedicate their personal time to implementing projects and initiatives for the club's benefit. From the north of Poland with a draw: Arka - Wisła 1:1

The match of the round, played in Gdynia, ended in a 1-1 draw. Wisła was forced to share the points with Arka, and Szymon Sobcza k. scored the goal for the Kraków team in the 75th minute.

The match in Gdynia was intense from the outset. Arka first had their chances, including a free kick, and then Wisła attempted to strike back on the counterattack, but to no avail. In the ninth minute, the White Star had a chance with a free kick. However, Bregu first sent the ball straight into the wall, and then Krzyżanowski fired a shot over the bar. Unfortunately, 180 seconds later, the Yellow-Blues took the lead through Olaf Kobacki, who finished off the home side's attack. It all started with Dawid Szot losing possession, and his attempt to rectify the mistake proved fruitless.

After the goal, Arka refused to relent in their attacks, although the Kraków team also attempted to break through to the opponent's penalty area, but without much success. The 22nd minute brought another threat in the White Star's penalty area following a corner kick, but fortunately, Alvaro Ratón intervened in time.

That wasn't the end of the home side's threats. In the 33rd minute, Raton's free kick and Czubak's shot found the net again, but the referee ruled it offside. The final period of the game didn't change the complexion of the game. Arka remained dominant, and the R22 players had to wait until the second half for their chances.

Two different halves

The second half saw Janusz Gol's shot on target saved by Alvaro Raton. Arka Gdynia played a bit lower down the pitch, and the Kraków team were creating more opportunities, but execution was a problem. Duda had a chance, hitting the side netting. Fifteen minutes before the end of the second half, Szymon Sobczak arrived on the pitch and proved to be a saver. The striker quickly finished off a three-player move with Rodado and Alfaro.

The final minutes of the match were evenly matched, with both teams fighting fiercely for the win. Three minutes before the end of the match, Sobczak missed a perfect opportunity, successfully stopped by an Arka defender.

Legends Corner available at the Official Fanshop

This will be a treat for Wisła Kraków fans! The Legends Corner—which was popular in the VIP area—will be moved to the Official Fanshop. This will give it a new, historic look. On Tuesday, March 12th, at 5:30 PM, Maciej Żurawski will meet with Wisła Kraków fans, kicking off a series of Legends meetings in this part of the stadium.

Legends Corner is a place steeped in history, created by Krzysztof Gaweł – owner of KiM Group, a long-time partner of the club, and a passionate Wisła Kraków fan. Together with the Wisła History Association, he ensures that future generations of fans regularly receive a unique lesson filled with memories. This time, the extraordinary collections amassed over the years by Krzysztof Gaweł, the club, and Wisła History will adorn the Official Fanshop and become available to a wider audience of fans. Memorabilia will permanently adorn the shop, and events featuring exceptional Wisła players will also be held regularly.

The football collection combined with the story of Żuraw will allow you to travel back to the times of victories on the domestic and international stage.

Those fans of the 13-time Polish champions who attended matches against the legendary Wisła fans at the R22 stadium confirm that it's worth being a part of this event. Thanks to them, memories of the last exceptional on-field rivalries come flooding back with renewed vigor.

You must be with us at the Official Fanshop, where the outstanding striker Maciej Żurawski will talk about his experiences, numerous goals and emotions. After his speech, he will be happy to take a photo with you or sign autographs.

So what? See you soon!
