Fifteen-year-old Daniel Zdeb signed his first professional contract with Wisła Kraków today. The next player to sign his first professional contract with Wisła Kraków is 15-year-old Daniel Zdeb. The young defender signed a contract valid until June 30, 2027.

Born on March 4, 2009, Daniel Zdeb began his football career with Słomniczanka Słomniki, playing in several age groups, from junior to youth. In 2018, the young defender joined Wisła Kraków through the Wiślacki Diament project, starting out with the Orlik team. He later also played for the youth and junior teams in the C1 league, and last season made his debut in the Central Junior League with the U-15 team. At the start of the current season, Zdeb even made his first appearance for the U-17 team. He currently plays for the CLJ U-15 team, but his career was interrupted by an ankle injury, which he is currently recovering from. The defender has made 16 appearances this season.

Door to a career

As Daniel Zdeb, just 15, says, signing his first contract is a dream come true. The young defender shared his emotions after signing the contract and stated that his experience with Wisła Kraków so far has contributed significantly to his football development. "I feel great. Signing a professional contract with Wisła Kraków has been my dream from the start, as it's a club I've supported since childhood, and I've always wanted to play here. It opens the door for me to play at a high level. I'm very happy to be committing to Wisła for the long term. I've been at the club for a long time and feel very comfortable here. I never considered moving because my dream is to one day play for R22. I've certainly developed a lot here, and I'm glad that thanks to the Wisła Diamond project, I was able to stand out and was selected," says Zdeb.

The 15-year-old's spring season didn't start well, as he suffered an ankle injury. Zdeb is currently undergoing rehabilitation and hopes it will be completed quickly. The defender of the youngest CLJ team is confident his team will overcome the challenges and begin their climb up the league table. "I'm currently recovering from an ankle injury that happened to me at the beginning of this season. I've had a very unlucky start to the year, as I've also had problems with my thighs and ankle. I'm rehabilitating and hope to be back on the pitch as soon as possible because I want to help the U-15 team. We're staying positive; we'll definitely get back on our feet and not end this season in this position. I'm confident we'll show what we're capable of," he concluded.

Krystian Żakowicz, coach of the CLJ U-15 team, spoke about his player, outlining his strong qualities on the pitch. "We started working with Daniel at the beginning of this season, but we've been in touch for a while now. He previously played for the senior team, where he was a very important player, and now he's a member of my team. I can definitely say that he's a player who stands out for his maturity in the game and his understanding and interpretation of situations on the pitch. These are qualities he possesses at a very high level. Daniel is currently recovering from an ankle injury, and we look forward to his return. He's an important member of the team, and they desperately need him," said Krystian Żakowicz, coach of the CLJ U-15 team, about the player.
