For tickets to the National Stadium: Match preview #WISPIA
In less than 24 hours, the first whistle of arguably the most important match of the season will sound. In front of a packed R22 stadium, Wisła Kraków will host Piast Gliwice in the Polish Cup semifinals. The highly anticipated match will kick off on April 3rd at 5:30 PM.
The Polish Cup is played in a single-elimination format. This year, the White Star has played at home every time, recording four victories in total: against Lechia Gdańsk 2-1, Polonia Warszawa 3-0, Stal Rzeszów 4-1, and finally, after a thrilling clash, Widzew Łódź 2-1.
A top-flight rival is once again coming to Kraków. However, the ongoing league season hasn't been without its challenges for the Gliwice team. Coach Vuković and his team are currently bottom of the table, winning their matches primarily at home. Meanwhile, Wisła, along with their fans, have turned their home stadium into a fortress, suffering only one defeat in their last 15 matches across all competitions.
Interestingly, the two teams last met in a direct clash exactly two years ago. On April 3, 2022, the score was 2-2, with Stefan Savić and Dor Hugi scoring for Wisła Kraków. However, the draw in Wednesday's match is inconclusive, and the match will continue until the first runner-up in the May finals is determined.
Only victory, Wisełka!
