This wasn't how Friday night in Legnica was supposed to go. The White Star lost 1-2 to Miedź in the 24th round of the Betclic 1 League, with Kacper Duda scoring the Kraków team's only goal.

Both teams enjoyed a close start to the match on Friday evening, with more play than scoring opportunities. In the 11th minute, Wisła concentrated their attacks and tested their opponent's attack, which, however, was perfectly placed and cleared the ball well away from their own goal. However, when Kacper Duda attempted a shot in the 14th minute, the ball deflected off the opponent and… fluttered into the net. From then on, the hosts were forced to chase the lead.

Coach Łobodziński's players quickly tried to close the gap, but to no avail. That was until the 20th minute, when Kamil Antonik slotted the ball into Broda's net after a long corner. After a somewhat more intense period, the match saw more play in midfield. In the 27th minute, Kamil Broda put in a superb performance, clearing a shot from close range with his legs.

The final quarter of the first half saw pressure from the home side, who were gaining too much ground in the White Star penalty area. Their only real weakness was finishing. In response, Baena drove down the right wing in the 36th minute, but his shot was saved by Wrąbel. The home side also intervened on the rebound. Seconds later, Łukasz Zwoliński jumped to the ball from a set piece, but the ball landed in the goalkeeper's hands. Nothing else happened for the remainder of the half to tip the balance in either direction.

Blow after the break

Wisła began the second half with a missed shot after a long corner. Duda, who had already scored, made a slight mistake. A great deal of nervousness crept into the subsequent action. The atmosphere affected the coaching staff, too, and they issued yellow cards.

In the 60th minute, James Igbekeme decided to shoot from distance, but the ball deflected off the opponent and gave the Krakow team a corner kick, which the R22 players failed to capitalize on. The White Star's subsequent attacks posed no threat. Chances followed, but Miedź's did so in the 67th minute, but first the ball hit the post, and then the hosts were unable to capitalize on the rebound.

The players from the capital of Małopolska continued to find their chances. In the 78th minute, the ball found the back of the net, but the referee immediately blew for offside. The final minutes of the match were marked by unsuccessful counterattacks from Miedź, which Wisła effectively stopped. It wasn't until the 82nd minute that Juliusz Letniowski forced Kamil Broda to surrender. There were no more goals, and Legnica retained the three points...
