#TYCWIS match without Wisła Kraków fans
On May 9th, the White Star players will travel to Tychy, where they will play GKS Tychy in the 32nd round of the Betclic 1 League. The host city refused to accommodate an organized group of Wisła Kraków fans. A letter from the club reads:
"The Management Board of GKS Tychy SA Football Club hereby announces that, acting under Resolution No. II/85 of 20 February 2013 of the Management Board of the Polish Football Association on the rules for the participation of visiting team fans at football matches during central-level competitions organised by the Polish Football Association and Ekstraklasa SA (as amended), it has decided not to accept an organised group of visiting club fans, i.e. Wisła Kraków, during the match of the 32nd round of the league scheduled at the Municipal Stadium in Tychy on 9 May 2025."
"The above is justified by real indications of the potential threat to the safety of participants in the mass event and the conduct of the 1st league match. In particular, the Company's Management Board took into account:
- the continuing conflict among fans across the country regarding the acceptance of an organised group of Wisła Kraków fans at stadiums and the emotions associated with it,
- relations between fans of individual clubs (the so-called "harmony" between fans of GKS Tychy and Cracovia),
- the fact that due to the introduction of national mourning on April 26, 2025 in connection with the death of Pope Francis, the match-related events planned to mark the 54th birthday of GKS Tychy
(a football tournament for youth teams of friendly clubs and a family picnic) have been moved to the day of the next home match of GKS Tychy footballers, i.e. May 9, 2025, which has a real impact on the possibility of a threat to football fans who will be present in the stands of the Municipal Stadium in Tychy on that day."
Wisła Kraków informs that it will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Committee of the Polish Football Association to assess the validity of GKS Tychy's decision.
