Match of the 1st round of #STMWIS without Wisła Kraków fans

On July 20, Stal Mielec will host Wisła Kraków in a first-round Betclic 1 League match. The hosts refused to host an organized group of White Star fans, posting a statement on their own website.

The announcement reads: "In connection with the Betclic 1 League football match scheduled for July 20, 2025, between FKS Stal Mielec (as the host team) and Wisła Kraków (as the visiting team), we indicate that there are circumstances justifying not accepting an organized group of fans of the visiting team.

We indicate as the reason the necessity for the facility management body – the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Mielec – to carry out renovation works by 1 August 2025, which were not possible to carry out earlier due to the circumstances indicated below.

Due to the planned renovation and modernisation works of the visitors' sector at the Municipal Stadium in Mielec, FKS Stal Mielec is unable to provide:

  • appropriate infrastructure conditions for the reception of visiting fans in accordance with the PZPN Match Organisation Regulations,
  • a safe buffer zone and evacuation routes for the guest sector,
  • required sanitary and social standards
The renovation is scheduled to be completed by August 1, 2025. Until then, the away section will be closed, making it impossible to hold a match with an organized group of visiting team fans.

In June, the Grzegorz Lato Municipal Stadium in Mielec, where football matches were played, was handed over to UEFA in connection with the organisation of the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, to be held from 15 to 27 June 2025.
Only after the Stadium is handed over to the Club will the Municipal Sports and Recreation Center begin renovation work on the stadium grounds. The Municipal Sports and Recreation Center plans to replace damaged seats with new ones, among other things, to ensure the comfort and safety of spectators, particularly in the away fans' section, and to provide social facilities in the away section.

The club informs that, as in previous cases, it will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Committee of the Polish Football Association to assess the validity of Stal Mielec's decision.
