Maciej Hajdara, a Wisła Kraków player

Just before the start of the spring season, the White Star's second team is strengthening its squad. Twenty-year-old center-back Maciej Hajdara has joined the fourth-division team on a temporary transfer. The player's loan from Podhale Nowy Targ runs until June 30, 2024. The contract includes an option to extend.

Born on March 22, 2003, Maciej Hajdara began his football career at KS Slavia Ruda Śląska. He then joined MKS Żory, where he played in the Central Junior League in the U-15 category, among other teams. He later also played at the highest junior level, representing Cracovia, Górnik Zabrze, and Hutnik Kraków. In 2021, he moved to Podhale Nowy Targ, where he played in the third division, and also had a short stint at Lubań Maniowy. This season, Hajdara has made eight appearances for the Nowy Targ third-division team, scoring two goals. He has made four appearances in the Polish Cup and scored twice. During the pre-season with Wisła Kraków's second team, the defender successfully completed trials, playing in three friendlies and scoring one goal.

"I'm very happy to be joining Wisła Kraków. The club's second team is a great project with young players playing the main roles, and I intend to help this team advance to the third league. I want to bring my experience to the locker room and give it my all. I've felt great in the team from the start; the guys have welcomed me very well. It's a strong team that shows that its skills surpass those of many of its league rivals. I appreciate the high level of professionalism here. As for the coach, I believe he's a specialist from whom I can learn a lot and develop even further," said the young defender after signing the contract.

"My greatest strengths on the pitch are tackling the ball and aggressive play. I enjoy aerial duels, which I sometimes manage to score from, but defense is my main strength, and I rely on it. I always set the team goal at the very top, which is currently the aforementioned promotion. Individually, I'd like to earn a place in the starting lineup and get as many minutes on the pitch as possible. I want to give myself a high level of quality to give myself a chance to stay in the team next season," concluded Hajdara.

Welcome and good luck!
