After the match in Legnica, coach Mariusz Jop didn't hide his dissatisfaction, as his team lost 2-1 to Miedź. It's time to record the post-match press conference.

Mariusz Jop - Wisla Kraków

"A painful defeat against a team we knew had attacking strengths. Two very nice long-range shots resulted in us conceding two goals. The first half was poor for us, and I think Miedź had its chances. In the second, the tables were turned, and we dominated. We had our chances, but we couldn't convert them into goals. Unfortunately, we have to swallow the bitterness of defeat," he began.

When asked about Wisła's poor performance in the first half, the coach replied: "I think we lost too many individual duels. It was quite noticeable and Miedź created chances from it. It was simply because we lost duels."

According to one journalist, Angel Rodado was invisible, effectively shut out by his opponent: "Rodado also had his chance, shooting from close range with these half-scissors shots. Normally, in training, he does it ten-on-ten, hitting the target. And the vast majority of them are goals. But sometimes, no matter how hard you try, it just doesn't work out."

Both of Miedź's goals came from long-range shots. What was lacking defensively? "I think we lacked that edge here. We knew Miedź was a team that scored a lot of goals from long range. They're looking for that; statistically, they take a lot of shots from longer distances. We lacked closing the distance, simply blocking those shots. That's the simplest way I can answer that question," he noted.

The White Star coach was also asked about the controversy involving the referee. How did the referee explain the lack of a free kick for Wisła? "He explained that Zwoliński touched the ball, and that was the reason it wasn't considered a pass to the goalkeeper. I think the intent was clear. Perhaps the rules say that if the ball is touched, it's treated differently. I think the situation where Jaroch was fouled in the first half, and there was a free kick in the other direction, was also controversial. After that, there was a corner kick, and we conceded a goal. That was also a somewhat incomprehensible situation for me, where Jaroch was clearly kicked in the face," he concluded.

Wojciech Łobodziński - Miedź Legnica

"First of all, I wanted to thank the fans for the fantastic welcome. I felt at home, and you could hear and feel it in the atmosphere before, during, and after the match. So thank you. That's for starters. As for the match itself, our first half was exactly as I had planned over the past few days. The changes I made to our pressing and prepared for the match against Wisła paid off, meaning we played very aggressively, winning the ball high. We had our chances, and looking back and reflecting on the match, I was afraid we might lack that intensity in the second half. And unfortunately, that's what happened. With our changes, we increased the pace a bit and added some quality, so we ultimately won, but against such an opponent, such moments can happen. Well done to the boys for supporting two players who didn't play much, Babacar and Janek, because it was certainly a very difficult match for them, but I also know – at such a young age – that when it comes to players, they need support, and the team supported them today." and they played the right game," he concluded.
