Mission: Rapid | #WISRAP Preview

It's time for an electrifying evening of European football! The first whistle will blow today, July 25th, at 6:00 PM for the match between Wisła Kraków and Austrian side Rapid Vienna. The stadium on Reymonta Street is expected to be packed, promising a fantastic atmosphere and thrilling football!

After defeating KF Llapi 4-1 on aggregate, Wisła qualified for the second round of Europa League qualifying. There, they were drawn against the highly-decorated Rapid Vienna, among Europe's top teams, whose stated goal is to reach at least the group stage of the tournament. The visitors are considered the favorites in this two-legged tie, but they are by no means expecting an easy journey.

The Green and Whites will officially kick off their season with an away match in Krakow. Eight new players joined the Austrian side during the transfer window, suggesting the team is still in the building phase. However, with a long preseason behind them, culminating in a drawn friendly against AC Milan, coach Klauss has no doubts that his players are ready to fight for the highest honors.

The visiting team's style of play can be described as very direct. Efficient ball possession, gaining space, and quick attacks are the hallmarks of our opponents' football. Despite his relatively young age, the coach of the popular Hütteldorfer boasts considerable experience, having worked alongside such footballing professionals as Ralf Rangnick and Julian Nagelsmann.

For Wisła, being the underdog could prove beneficial. Łukasz Zwoliński, responding to journalists' questions, admitted that he and his teammates are fully prepared and will approach the challenge against the higher-ranked team without any inhibitions. All that's left now is to count down the final hours to the match to see how Kraków's football, as played by coach Moskal, will fare against the attacking Viennese side.

Together to win!
