Mariusz Jop after #STMWIS: We were patient, we created the situation, so congratulations to the team

Mariusz Jopa's team started the season very well! By defeating Stal Mielec in the first round of the Betclic 1 League, the White Star added a valuable three points to their tally, thanks to goals from Łukasz Zwoliński, Bartosz Jaroch, and a double from Angel Rodado. The Wisła Kraków coach summed up the match.

"We're definitely very happy with this match. The first match is always a bit of a mystery, so I'm glad we got a solid result without conceding a goal. The first half was definitely a bit nervous – unnecessary. We gave the ball away too quickly, but in the second half it was much better. We were patient and created chances, so congratulations to the team," the White Star coach summed up Sunday's match in Mielec.

What was the reason for this nervousness in the first minutes? "I think that first situation kind of shook our confidence, and that's what happened later. It was probably the first minute where the controversy over the penalty kick occurred. So, as I said, that's why the start wasn't the best. However, what's important is that the team was able to react properly later on." - he replied.

In the second half, Wisła's coach decided to make changes that immediately had an impact on the pitch. Does this mean you definitely need to work on building up your left-back defense? "Of course it does. What matters is how the players perform, those who started and those who come on. However, there's still a week until the next match – six days, actually – so we'll see how it goes in training. I think Julian Lelieveld and Frederico Duarte both played well. Sukiennicki also had his good moments. Krzyżanowski also did well defensively at times, but of course that yellow card was the deciding factor in my substitution at half-time." - he concluded.
