Mikulec: Play your own football all the time
Friday's #WISBBT clash was crucial for the White Star in terms of points and building confidence. The Krakow team held the leaders in check, winning 2-0. Rafał Mikulec shared his thoughts after the match.
"We're definitely happy because we played very offensively from the start and had our chances. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to score in the first half. We're especially pleased that we came out calmly in the second half. We also had chances and managed to capitalize on the first one, and then it was all downhill from there," began Rafał Mikulec.
In addition to the points and goals scored, the defender is pleased with the team's defensive performance. "Yes, definitely. We played against a team that has been scoring a lot of goals so far. We're very happy with how we played from the back, but we've also been much better defensively for the past few weeks. We're conceding fewer goals, and I think if we keep playing like this until the end, we'll climb up the table," he said, adding: "At the beginning of the season, we started poorly in defense, conceding a lot of goals. The coach is now focusing on key things in training. We're actually working a lot on defense, and I think that's why it's like this now."
The Krakow team approached the match against the Elephants with the mindset of winning, even though they had to wait a long time for goals. "We were very patient in the second half, and fortunately, it didn't let us down that we didn't manage to score in the first half, and in the second half we got a head start on our opponents and overall won the match. The coach demands that we play our own game all the time, and I think we've been continuing that for a few games now, and it's looking very good offensively," he noted.
