#MatchChampions: Wisła concert in Chorzów!
Ruch and Wisła fans had been eagerly awaiting this match. Saturday afternoon was a lucky day for only one of them – those from Kraków. The White Star gave their league rival no chance, thrashing them 5-0.
The R22 team started strongly, taking the lead from a set piece in the 5th minute. Mariusz Kutwa, who replaced the booked Alan Uryga at center-back, placed the ball under the crossbar and converted a corner cross from Marko Poletanović.
Although Chorzów tried to quickly penetrate Wisła's penalty area, the Wawel defense responded quickly. In the 13th minute, Zawiliński received a good pass between the Chorzów defenders, but he slipped while taking the shot, and the Blues goalkeeper had no trouble making the save.
Ruch's attempts to reach Wisła's goal failed to produce any opportunities to equalize. However, the White Star played brilliantly in Chorzów. The 21st minute saw a swift attack from the Kraków side, a cross from Mikulec from the left flank, and Rodado's goal, who headed the ball into the net.
The minutes were running out, and Wisła was still on the attack. The hosts struggled to get out of their own half, let alone create any chances. The 33rd minute saw another attack in front of the Blues' goal. The ball, like a chess game, flowed from one White Star player to another until it landed at the feet of Zwoliński. He headed the ball into the net, but the referee ruled it offside.
The final phase of the first half was extended slightly due to a forced break due to smoke. After the restart, Wisła followed up the attack and added a third goal. This time, after a well-organized move, Angel Baena slotted the ball into the net, making it 3-0 to Mariusz Jop's team.
Three before half-time, two after half-time
After the break, the hosts attempted to strike the first blow, specifically Barański, who fired a shot from inside the penalty area, narrowly missing the mark. Moments later, the Blues once again pushed into the opponent's penalty area, but the Kraków team repulsed their attacks.
The home side's pressure continued, suggesting the second half would once again be filled with excitement. This was once again ensured by the White Star players, specifically Angel Rodado, who delighted his fans once again in the 56th minute.
The Rodado show was in full swing! The 60th minute brought the fifth goal for Wisła, who showed no signs of stopping. This time, the Spanish striker slotted the ball into Ruch's goal from a long corner and from distance.
Coach Szulczek's players tried to fight for at least a consolation goal.
In the 74th minute, they had a chance to score, but the ball deflected wide of the post. Moments later, the situation was threatening again, but Letkiewicz was on guard.
By the end of the match, nothing more had been scored, and the White Star players returned to the capital of Lesser Poland with three points!
