Mariusz Jop after #TYCWIS: I saw the belief that we were capable of winning this match
Wisła Kraków returns home with a perfect record, defeating GKS Tychy 4-3. At the press conference following the victory, White Star coach Mariusz Jop spoke.
"I would like to congratulate the team, because playing at this ground is always very difficult. On the other side stood a team that was very offensive, very intense, and was dangerous from set pieces. They confirmed today what Tychy has been showing so far. I'm very happy that we were able to tip the scales of victory in our favor, despite a poor start, when the goal was scored after a set piece. The team was able to react, take the lead, and in a difficult psychological moment, when the opponent scored to make it 3-2 and then equalized, you could see the team's great energy and belief that we could win the match. We reacted quite quickly and scored the winning goal. Of course, I would have preferred fewer goals conceded, but you have to appreciate the class of the opponent, you have to appreciate how Tychy can build their attacks and how effective they are in offensive actions. Congratulations again. I'm glad that the fans could be with us, because that is also very important to us." element" - Mariusz Jop summed up the meeting.
Wisła Kraków conceded their first goals this season. "Maybe Kamil was a little nervous. Kamil Broda is a very good goalkeeper, just like Patryk Letkiewicz and Anton Chichkan, so he will certainly have our support. Sometimes it happens that matches don't go as we would like, and that's normal in sports. However, it doesn't change my opinion of him as a player," the coach said.
In the 5th minute of the match, Wiktor Biedrzycki was shown a yellow card. "We reminded Wiktor to be vigilant and careful, as he'd already received one warning. Usually, in situations like this, the opponent tries to take advantage and play in the area of the pitch where the cautioned player is. I think Wiktor also has a lot of experience from last season, where he received those cards. We talked about him being careful; if it's a 50/50 situation, it's better to let up a bit than to receive another card," the White Star coach said.
Another assist is added to his account by young Maciej Kuziemka, who not so long ago played for the Wisła Kraków Academy teams. "Maciej is a hard-working guy who doesn't complain. He's always 100% prepared. I think that's a very important trait. Of course, Maciej is a very talented footballer, but the most important thing is that he backs that up with hard work. He's been with us for a long time. Now he's been given the chance to play in the starting lineup. He has the numbers and is effective, so I think that bodes well for the future," concluded coach Jop.
