Khromykh: This league doesn't forgive mistakes
The White Star team has had a busy week, playing two league matches – against Korona II Kielce and Chełmianka Chełm. In both of Wisła's defeats, we were able to see White Star's young player, Yehor Khromykh, on the pitch. Wisła commented on his team's performance in the aforementioned matches and also spoke about the early stages of the Betclic III Liga campaign.
The Kraków team has had two challenging matches, both of which they unfortunately couldn't emerge unscathed. In the first, Kielce clearly dominated, but in the second, Wisła rose to the occasion, attempting to turn the tables. How did Yehor Khromykh assess his performance in these matches?
"On Wednesday, in the match against Korona, I played the first half, and it was probably my worst performance recently. Unfortunately, such matches happen. On Saturday, however, we faced another challenge, and I had no choice but to draw conclusions and move on. In the match against Chełmianka, I got the chance to show my skills for 85 minutes, so I thank the coaching staff for their trust. I wanted to improve after the disappointing match against Korona, and I gave it my all."
The first defeat had a motivating effect on coach Bartosz Bąk's players. As the player recalls, in the second match, after conceding a goal early on, the Wisła team consistently pushed for an equalizer, trying to take control of the game, but to no avail.
"Against Korona, it wasn't our best team match either, so we approached the match against Chełmianka with great commitment and determination. Even though we conceded a goal in the 5th minute, the team's determination was evident throughout the match. Everyone fought until the end, but unfortunately, we weren't able to score."
The White Star's second team is taking its first steps in the third division and has had an extremely difficult start. The Reymont team remains winless and has three points after five matches. How are Wisła handling this unfavorable situation?
"For most of the guys, and for me as well, playing in the third division is a new experience, and we've already experienced firsthand that this league doesn't forgive mistakes. That's why we have fewer points than we expected and deserved for our performance. Despite all this, I think we're heading in the right direction, so I'm sure that in the end, we'll get a result."
