Kuziemka: We feel very dissatisfied after this match
Wisła Kraków has secured another first-division win. This time, the team led by coach Mariusz Jop faced Wieczysta Kraków. The clash between the two teams from the capital of Małopolska ended in a draw. After the game, we spoke with Wisła Kraków midfielder Maciej Kuziemka.
The Wisła Kraków player didn't hide his dissatisfaction with the final result, despite his respect for the point. "We're obviously very dissatisfied after this match, as the statistics confirm that we dominated. Everyone would have liked to have won three points, but we're happy to have earned a point. Kudos to the team, because in the next match we'll show that we can score late goals, but I think we deserved to win," Kuziemka began.
In the second half, Wisła Kraków decisively took the initiative, and if they had been more efficient, they could have taken all three points. "The second half also depended on how Wieczysta played. I got the impression they were more concerned with maintaining the lead, while we played our own game. We knew what we wanted to do, play the passes," he noted.
Wisła Kraków will play three matches in a week. They face Ruch Chorzów next Sunday. How are the players from Wawel Castle approaching such intensity? "I think we're well prepared, we feel good. Three matches in a week is never easy, and the body feels it, but the coaching staff pays attention to it, and each player knows how important recovery is during such a period, and we take care of it," the midfielder assured.
The match against Wieczysta Kraków was a kind of Kraków derby. Do the players prepare differently for such games? "We approached this match like any other. There may have been more tension in the air, an atmosphere surrounding it, but we want to prepare for every match the same way, and there were no changes to this one," said the Wisła player.
The young White Star player had the opportunity to play against Michał Pazdan in Thursday's match. "It's definitely a great feeling to play against Michał Pazdan. I remember watching him on TV when he was playing for the national team. But I didn't behave any differently on the pitch because he was there," he concluded.
