Kutwa: The priority is always the team's result
In the 16th round of the Betclic 1 League, fans witnessed a thrilling match between Stal Stalowa Wola and Wisła Kraków. In the away match, the White Star defeated the newcomer 5-1, with Mariusz Kutwa contributing to the goals. After the match, we had the opportunity to speak with the young player.
The match against Stal Stalowa Wola is another in which Mariusz has played from the start. How does the young player feel about this? "There's no such thing as a 'permanent place' in the starting lineup. I fight for my position week after week, in every training session. Through my performances, I try to prove that I deserve to play from the start. Each match is an opportunity to show that I should keep my place," he began.
The 39th minute saw the goal make it 2-1, putting the youngster on the scoresheet. "How does it feel? I'm definitely very happy that I managed to score. It's my first goal like this, and it gives me wings," he said.
However, the Kraków team wasn't immune to mistakes during their clash with Stalówka, but ultimately emerged victorious. "We had some problems at the beginning, especially with ball movement and pressing. The opponent capitalized on our mistake, causing us to concede a goal. However, after scoring the second goal to make it 2-1, we took the initiative and dominated the opposition," he analyzed.
Mariusz Kutwa was named Man of the Match by members of Socios Wisła Kraków – the first such honor for the young player. "I absolutely did not expect such an honor. I would like to thank the fans who voted for me. Awards like these are a nice bonus, but the team's result is always the priority," he emphasized.
Wisła will not have a break in the competition, as they have a match against Chrobry Głogów ahead of them. "It's the perfect time for another challenge. We're fueled by the victory and want to continue this good streak," he concluded.
