Conference before #CERWIS

Wisła have arrived in Belgium, where they will play Cercle Brugge on Thursday. Coach Kazimierz Moskal and Kamil Broda answered questions during the pre-match press conference.

The list of absentees includes: Joseph Colley, Kacper Duda, Giannis Kiakos, Bartosz Talar, Dawid Szot, Jakub Stępak and Mateusz Młyński, who is complaining of hip pain.

Kazimierz Moskal - coach of Wisła Kraków

Immediately after the clash with Cercle, the Kraków team will travel to Kołobrzeg to face Kotwica, to which the coach commented: "Of course, both of these matches are important for us, but looking ahead to tomorrow's, we can't look back. We can't think about what happened last week. We just want to play a good match here in Belgium and fight for the best possible result. I think this is a very healthy approach when it comes to the return match. We know the situation we're in, we're fully aware of it, but it makes us even more determined to play a good match here."

The White Star staff carefully analyzed the first match. So what disappointed them most? "I don't think it's a difficult question. There are two truths in football. One is that it's a game of mistakes – whoever makes more of them has a greater chance of losing. We made a lot of those mistakes in this match. However, as for the second thing, I think that in football you have to learn from those mistakes, and football is also an eleven-on-eleven game, but in reality it's limited to playing one-on-one in certain areas of the pitch. The opponent was much better in this respect than us in terms of duels. They used their potential. They took advantage of the opportunities they had to make the best of in this match. In my opinion, we were better in terms of combination play; we created several opportunities where we had to work hard. It was much easier for the opponent because they used simpler methods, but their opponents had their own predispositions. Hence the result in this last match," he replied.

Due to the postponed match against Miedź Legnica, the R22 team had the opportunity to complete a full training micro-cycle. What elements were most involved? "I think there was a bit of everything – and we rested a bit, as we had two days off. But there was also time to re-train certain things. I'm talking primarily about defense, how we behave in defense. Maybe not so much over-training, but rather a reminder of certain principles we want to follow. Of course, we also worked on our offense. Indeed, it was – I would say – more comfortable for us, because we could do something in training between matches," he said.

Igor Łasicki is already at the coach's disposal, having declared himself ready to play from the start. "Of course, we were waiting for Igor to finally return to the matchday squad and be fully ready to count on him. I won't deny that there will definitely be some changes in the lineup tomorrow. I won't go into details here, but as long as Igor is healthy, he will definitely get his chance, and we're looking forward to it," he noted.

Łukasz Zwoliński is training with the team, and James Igbekeme is also working on his form. Igbekeme won't play in Belgium, but he could feature in Kołobrzeg. "As for Łukasz, he's been training with us full-time for three days, and unless something unexpected happens, he's considered for the game. James will definitely not play in tomorrow's match because he's not registered. However, he's with us and is being considered for the match in Kołobrzeg," concluded coach Kazimierz Moskal.

Kamil Broda - Wisła Kraków goalkeeper

The first match against Cercle took its toll on Kamil Broda, who had to pick the ball out of the net six times. "I definitely had an analysis with coach Łukasz Załuska. We discussed basically every situation that occurred in the match. The second goal definitely belongs in my opinion. However, I think it's just a matter of positioning, correcting it, and everything will be fine. Unfortunately, six goals is a lot, and I don't want to dwell on the individual behavior of individual players, because it's pointless. We conceded too many goals as a team, and there should have been far fewer of them," he said.

What will the goalkeeper take away from the cup matches, and has he made the most of his opportunity? "It's hard to say at this point. I certainly approach every match with high expectations, both for myself and for the team. Now comes the next match here in Bruges, and time will tell what happens next," he added.
