Kuziemka after #WISŚLĄ: I can't stop, I have to keep working
The White Star once again secured a perfect record. This time, coach Mariusz Jop's side defeated Śląsk Wrocław at home. The Kraków team won 5-0, with our interviewee, Maciej Kuziemka, playing a role in the victory. What did he say?
The Wisła Kraków player highlighted the tactical guidelines set by the coach and their implementation. "We're very happy because we're executing our goals, and it's working for us. Thanks to that, we're scoring a lot of goals and keeping clean sheets. We have to keep it going," Kuziemka began.
The young Wisła Kraków player has stormed his way into the starting eleven and is proving his worth with each match, while keeping a cool head throughout. "I'm proud to be a starter at Wisła Kraków. I'm happy that I'm where I am thanks to hard work. But I can't stop, I have to keep working," he noted.
Maciej Kuziemka also commented on his collaboration with another White Star player, Julian Lelieveld, saying: "Julian is definitely a very smart player. I can learn from him, he gives me a lot of advice on the pitch in terms of positioning and behavior. I enjoy playing with him, and he's also just a nice person, so I hope it continues."
The White Star player recently received a call-up to the Polish youth national team. Did he expect such an honor? "Of course, the thought of being called up was in the back of my mind, but I didn't focus on it. It was, and still is, important to me to perform at my best in matches, and the recognition came naturally," the player continued.
Wisła Kraków has been racking up wins this season. Did the players from Wawel Castle realistically anticipate such a start before the campaign began? "It's hard to say whether we expected such good results at the start of the season, but we know what skills we have. We also know how we want to play – offensively and boldly, to score goals, which we're doing. We knew that if we followed our plan, it might end this way," said the midfielder.
The Wisła player emphasized, however, that the season is long and that bad matches can happen. It's important to stay focused. "The First League is unique. We've already seen that anyone can beat anyone here, so we approach each match with a clear head and fight for all three points," he stated, adding, "We definitely analyze each match with the coaching staff. I think we sometimes lack patience, but I look at it mainly from my perspective, at my game. I believe there are moments where we can make more passes, tire the opponent out. I like our aggressive style, when we're constantly attacking." Finally, he spoke about what he believes is White Star's greatest strength: "We don't want to back down, we don't want to defend the result. We're the best at attacking; that's our greatest weapon. If we attack well, the opponent often can't handle us," he concluded.
