Wisła Kraków finished their overdue clash with Miedź Legnica 1-1, thus bidding farewell to 2024 with one point. Angel Rodado scored the goal for the White Star.

The match's opening moments clearly belonged to Wisła Kraków. The White Star players quickly forced Miedź into a deep defensive position, winning several set pieces from around the visitors' penalty area. Despite this, the R22 strikers were unable to test Jakub Wrąbel's form, and the score remained goalless after fifteen minutes.

The visitors from Legnica gradually began to assert themselves more and more often. The injury and forced substitution of Marc Carbo in the 27th minute was undoubtedly a major blow to Wisła's formation. The injury to such a key midfielder, Mariusz Jop, could be viewed as a benefit to the team in navy blue, which at the moment seemed to be on the rise.

With Wisła Kraków facing a more difficult period and the defending side in the ascendancy, Olivier Sukiennicki, along with the previously introduced Jesus Alfaro, launched a brilliant counterattack. The ball struck the hand of one of Miedź's returning defenders in the penalty area, and referee Kochanek, without hesitation, awarded a penalty. Unfortunately, the crowd's celebrations were soon cut short by VAR, which corrected the referee's initial decision against the home side. This incident marked the end of a goalless first half.

Get into the rhythm

The second half began much as the first had ended. Coach Mamrot's players were more at home attacking, holding possession dangerously close to Patryk Letkiewicz's goal for long stretches. The youngster made a superb save in one of the plays, only to be unfortunately beaten by Kamil Antonik moments later. It was the 54th minute.

The White Star desperately needed to get back into the match, as the visitors seemed dissatisfied with the 0-1 result. They achieved this goal very quickly, and in the 57th minute, thanks to a collaboration between Rafał Mikulec and Angel Rodado, the Spanish striker equalized. A beautiful shot, 1-1, and the match, as it were, began anew.

Despite the frosty weather, the match played at R22 was fiercely contested, and it was difficult to predict which side would tip the scales in their favor. The tie continued for a long time, and Wisła desperately wanted to convert it into a full set before the final whistle. No wonder – a win would have allowed them to finish the autumn season in a position to qualify for the play-offs. Ultimately, however, this didn't happen, and in the last match of the year, the Kraków team shared the points.
