Pre-#WISCER Conference | Part 2
That wasn't the end of the media activity for the day. Cercle Brugge coach Miron Muslić also met with journalists at the pre-match press conference. We invite you to read on!
"We're very well prepared for this match. Of course, we've been watching Wisła, especially in international matches against Rapid Vienna and Spartak Trnava. We know that Wisła is a very dangerous team, especially when they play at home. We expect 25,000-27,000 fans, so we expect a tough match. We know Wisła has a very good and dangerous striker. He scored two goals on Monday. Furthermore, Wisła can play flexibly, changing their playing patterns from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3," he began. "Of course, we know that Wisła plays in the Polish first league, but you only have to walk into this stadium to see that they are an absolutely top club in Poland with a great history. Moreover, the very fact that Wisła advanced to the Conference League play-offs means that they are an opponent that must be taken very seriously, because they have to have quality. For me, it doesn't matter who the favorites are in this match. We are well prepared, we have our plan, but I also don't think the fate of this rivalry will be decided in the first leg. Tomorrow evening, we will face a strong opponent who will have top fans behind them, who will create a great atmosphere. In the end, everything will be decided in two matches, not tomorrow," he added.
When asked if the Brugge team intends to focus specifically on Rodado, the coach replied: "Of course, we have a plan for that. We know he's a strong striker who can score goals from various positions. But Wisła isn't just about Rodado. He's having a great season, scoring ten goals already this season, but we can't focus on stopping one player. We have to focus on stopping Wisła as a team. We need to have a plan for the entire team, and we're prepared for that. But we have to play well as a team."
"The big thing for us is that we're only two steps away from our goal of promotion, which will be our reward for the last twelve months of hard work. We'll try to fight, but we're still aware that there could be two final steps to our goal," he continued.
The question was also asked if there was a player in the White Star team that the Cercle coach would like to see in his team. "What would my budget be for such a player? Our sporting director is here somewhere, so I could ask him. If I were to choose one Wisła player as a coach, it would be Rodado. We need to provide our sporting director's phone number. We've been in good financial shape lately, so it could be done," he smiled.
