TS Wisła Kraków SA announcement
The team's primary and key goal for the 2023/2024 season was promotion to the Ekstraklasa. Wisła Kraków finished outside the playoff zone and lost their chance to compete for Poland's top flight.
The White Star's position in the league table falls significantly below the assumed sporting expectations. For some time now, all aspects of the club's operations, both historical and current, have been subjected to comprehensive analysis, requiring further reform regardless of the level of play.
The past season was a mixed bag. For the first time in 21 years, we won the Polish Cup at the PGE National Stadium, which will allow the club to participate in the Europa League qualifying rounds.
The financial assumptions for the next season were built on two tracks: promotion to the Ekstraklasa and promotion not being promoted. This means that Wisła Kraków's operations are not at risk, but the club's budget requires readjustment to the conditions of the first league. Proceeds from the FORTUNA Polish Cup and qualifying for the Europa League/Conference League will be allocated to ongoing operations. We will announce further steps in the coming weeks.
By the end of June, the club will present a three-year operational strategy for the organisation, covering all levels of competition.
Changes within Wisła Kraków's sports department, including the head coach's position, whose vision was largely tied to reforming the academy from the youngest age groups to the first team, influenced the publication of the three-year plan. The club is currently adapting the project to the new conditions. After the transfer window ends, the strategy will be updated and then finalized in a relevant document.
