111 years ago - on September 13, 1914 - Bolesław Habowski was born, a football player for Wisła Kraków in 1930-38 and a soldier of the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade.
Habowski was a right winger, played twice for the Polish national team, and was a reserve player at the 1938 World Cup. During World War II, Habowski found himself in Soviet-occupied territories, joined Anders' Army, and saw combat in the ranks of the Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade. He settled in England, where he died in 1979.
